Since NI tech support is d!cking around I'm thinking about re-installing maschine to see if I will ever be able to use shift/control to turn the backlighting in Maschine off ever again...
does anyone know if I will have to upgrade to 1.0.2 in order to upgrade to 1.0.3 ?
also, is there a simple uninstall option for Maschine ? or do I need to trash every file ?

Thinking about installing AEM Short Ram Induction System

I just got a 2002 Saturn SC2 a few months ago and I'm wanting to make some improvements on it. Been reading a lot about AEM Short Ram Induction and have almost decided to order one and install it myself. Just wondering who out there has experience with these? What type of performance improvement can i reasonably expect? I would also like to hear from people that have it and what type of MPG increase can i expect, assuming that I don't find myself driving faster because of the extra performance!...

So i was thinking about getting archlord down and dusting it off, somthing to play while Lotro is on maintainence. After looking around it sound liek this game has gone to hell and back.
Is there actually any point of me re-installing if i just get spammed and hacked?

93 NP alternator not charging,,,thinking about installing delco from 90

I have a 93 xj that i am having electrical problems with,,code 41,,,,alternator will not charge,,,replaced it,,,,changed the computer and still nothing,,,this has also happened with my last xj..
I was thinking about putting a delco from a 90 on it...I have the brackets for it,,,,is it something i should do...or even can do?

Thinking About Installing HIDs

My headlights burn out every 6 - 8 months and I am getting tired of replacing them. It's a hassle and it's getting to be expensive so, I am thinking about getting an HID kit. From what I understand the on a good kit last thousands of hours and have the same replacement costs as standard bulbs while throwing out considerably more light.
Has anyone here purchased an HID conversion kit? Can I get any recommendations on whether or not I should go through with it?

Opinions wanted on smaller linux distros

I'm currently running Ubuntu 8.10. At times, I find it kinda laggy. My computer isn't the greatest- (it was free, what do you expect?) Pentium 4 @ 1.80 Ghz, 768MB RAM. Not exactly the best.
I was thinking about installing DSL or #! Linux because they're lighter, but I want some opinions. I care about speed, regular updates, community, etc. I know #! has a fairly big community. I can make concessions. I just want this computer to work a little faster.
Also- I'd like to try to stick to Debian base...

So I'm going to get something this summer, as I need something for school. The old IBM I had been using just wiped it's hard drive... again... and though I can still boot off the live cd, or reinstall to go get it wiped in few hours, it's not a whole lot of good to me, but I can finish off the year with it, and maybe someone who has nothing at all can make use of it, maybe one of my friends who hasn't yet been graced with even a secondhand computer as of yet.
