An inquiry on BATMAN stories
(08 Jun 2009)
I'm thinking about buying these collections, after reading and truly enjoying BATMAN AND SON, THE RESURRECTION OF RA'S AL GHUL and GOTHAM COUNTY LINE. In my choices I was mostly influenced by the writers and artists. Any comments, suggestions or words of warning about these?
BATMAN: GOTHAM AFTER MIDNIGHT (written by Steve Niles , art by Kelly Jones) [From DC Comics: Trick-or-treating in Gotham City can be terrifying — and tragic. Tonight, two people are invited to a party where they will be chal...

Batman: Brave and Bold Appriciation thread!
(16 Apr 2009)
Since were having lovely non Batman-game talk but still about Batman, i wanted to see how our newer members (and old usual guys) think about Batman: Brave and Bold!
I gotta admit i was really skeptical about it at first, and the first episode was abit meh with the whole tiny aliens needing help, but oh god Batman is tributed as Batgod in this show haha. I really love they got Andrea Romano to voice cast the people, i mean Diedrich Bader is the only voice actor who has impressed me after Kevin Co...

Pilgrim's "Dark Knight" review
(05 May 2009)
I know this is a little old, but I posted this on another forum, and onyxdragon has accused me of slackin' on my movie reviews but I just honestly haven't seen anything decent lately. So here's an oldie for those who still haven't seen "The Dark Knight" (both of you):
WOW . No, really. Hands down, the single best comic book movie ever made, and one of the best movies I've ever seen.
For those who don't know me, I'm a comic book fan, but I've always leaned more towards Marvel (or Image, or Dark H...

Christian Bale Says There Might Not Be Another Batman Movie
(24 Jun 2009)
Tim Burton directed two. So did Joel Schumacher. Might Christopher Nolan also stop at two "Batman" flicks? Could the seventh big-screen caped crusader adventure since 1989 require the services of a fourth director? Rumors that Nolan might not return for another go at Gotham City have been rampant and according to Bruce Wayne himself Christian Bale a follow-up to "The Dark Knight" might never materialize.
"I truly don't know that we're ever going to see another 'Batman' movie," Bale told MTV...

Should Vicki Vale be in Batman 3?
(03 Jul 2009)
I've been thinking about a plot a poster posted a few months ago (sorry, can't remember the name...but it was very good.) The focus of the film was on truth and morality....right where The Dark Knight left us at the end of the film.
This got me thinking how cool it would be to have Vicki Vale as a supporting character for the film. I think it'd be cool trying to have a Veronica Guerin-like reporter trying to exploit the corruption withing Gotham City as well as trying to reveal Batman's true ide...

Future Batman Directors
(07 Jul 2009)
David Goyer
David Goyers contributions to the Batman film franchise should not be under-estimated. When Chris Nolan first became assigned with the task of resurrecting the Caped Crusader he admitted that although he was a fan of the character, he wasnt a comic book fanatic and there were many facets to the character and his mythology that he didnt know. So he went out and hired Goyer, the man who knew more about the franchise than anyone else he spoke too. He hired a real comic book geek.
Goy...

Your perfect world of Batman?
(07 Jul 2009)
I was just thinking about how stories about Batman throughout every form of media basically tell the same story, but always change depending on what format it's presented in, and which audience it's intended for. If you could mix and match parts of your favorite Batman stories to create your perfect version, what would yours have?
(Be warned, mine has some spoilers, but I'll try to make them all real minor)
For me, I'd start by establishing what Gotham is like. I like it best as a chaotic urban...
