Thinking about an iPhone, Need a new phone!
(03 Jul 2009)
Hello, I am looking for advice to buy an iPhone, I've been wanting a new phone for a while now and now that the iPhone 3G is 99$, I was thinking about buying one. First of all, I live in Canada, and I am with Fido! I currently own an N-gage, it's old, it's dirty, it's dying. So I have found the iPhone a long time ago, it was my dream to have one, I thought about it for a long time but it was too pricy, and now I'm thinking about it. I was wondering if there was a way to cancel the Data part? (I...

Thinking about getting iPhone, few basic questions
(08 May 2009)
I hear you can't change the sms/email ringtones to custom ones. I searched this forum and found something called "ssh"ing into your iphone to change the ring files. Sounds easy, but do I need to jailbreak my iPhone to do this?
I make a lot of notes to myself in my car. This will be impossible without a tactile keyboard, so is there a way I could push a button and have my iphone start recording my voice?
What are the disadvantages of a jailbroken iphone? can I still use the apps I bought from the...

Thinking about going from BB 8820 to iPhone, What do I need to know?
(12 May 2009)
I have a Blackberry 8820. It was a pretty good phone until now. The trackball only sort of works. It scrolls, but when you press the button, it does not. So it makes it almost unuseable.
Now, i'm thinking about getting an iPhone, but I'd like to find out what I need to know beforehand. Currently I have a family plan with 4 lines one for myself, one for my wife, and two more lines for my two kids. Now, can I keep this current plan or set-up or do I need to switch to a seperate plan/account? How d...

Any Iphone users here thinking about the upgrade to 3.0??
(18 Jun 2009)
I started to download the new 3.0 software for my Iphone. After about fourty minutes I got an error message on the computer about the server timing out. I found I could no longer access the download site, I would get a time-out error message but could not re-try as the Iphone icon would then be gone. I closed Itunes and tried repeatedly with no luck. I then found the phone was locked-up and usless, displaying only a screen with a usb plug and an arrow pointing to an Itunes logo. This indicactes...

So my cell phone contract is running out this month. I'm switching providers...
(13 Apr 2009)
I can pay by month until the 4th gen iPhone comes out, which is what my plan kind of is right now. Any other better options? Only real must have is unlimited data plan. Other than that, just texts, calls etc...although I do like the Apps (I will be developing one with a friend soon) but that is not hinging on my decision of the iPhone

Anyone thinking about getting the new iPhone 3GS?
(12 Jun 2009)
I know Raz is and I've been on the fence myself. Just sold off my first gen 8GB iPhone and thinking about selling my 16GB 3G as well. There doesn't seem to be *that* much of a difference between the 3G and the 3GS so I'm thinking if it's worth the money. Biggest step up would be doubling the capacity but I barely use 16GB anyhow.
I was interested in other phones like the Pre too but it doesn't seem like it'll be available with a Canadian GSM provider any time soon...
What do you guys think?

If you're thinking about buying an iPhone, stop!
(10 Jun 2009)
So, you've had a look at the iPhone, and you're thinking to yourself, "This might be a good phone to choose." You're planning to buy it. Stop. With your purchase of the iPhone, you're committing yourself to a product decidedly inferior in the smartphone market, one with glaring design mistakes.
Let's start with the hardware. With the iPhone, you get a 412MHz ARM11 processor, 128MB of RAM and either 8GB or 16GB of internal storage. Apart from the internal storage, this is only roughly comparable...
