Prophet vs. Rize

I need a longer travel bike (more than my Scalpel), so these are the choices.
2005 Prophet 800, used but only barely, never off road. Around $1600.
2009 Rize 3, new. A little less than retail, maybe $3000.
Rize is nice but $$$, has warranty. Prophet is $, but no warranty. Both can handle later upgrade to B wheels, so it's kind of a toss up. I am looking for some opinions from those in the know.

Does "do-it-all" bike exist? (prophet/nomad/tracerVP)

Currently i own a prophet. I like the bike despite its flexy rear end, i like its climbing ability (i thinks it climbs awesome for 140-150mm SP frame). The only drawbacks are its heavy duty abilities - when i ride really gnarly steep sections the bike doesn`t inspire much confidence and feel a little "fragile" - sometimes i slow down or don`t try some bigger stuff (wich i would definitly would on DH/FR bike). And the falling rate suspension - when i increse sag to 30-40% it just blows in travel...

Dent in Prophet TT

I'm not very happy about it, but I put a dent in the side of my Prophet's top tube (section closer to the seat tube) . I'll see if I can get a picture of it when I'm not so tired from today's ride. It's maybe dented in about a millimeter or less, but it's there. I doubt it's anything to worry about, but I wanted some opinions.
EDIT: Got my butt off the couch and took a couple pictures. Note: there is also a scratch on the dent. It's pretty hard to see but I will point them out.

I was wondering:
What do Christians think about Mohammad and of His book the Qur'an? Considering that the Bible is the world's only perfect and inerrant word of God, why then would God send another Prophet? Especially one who says Jesus is not the Messiah?
What is the typical Christian take on Islam?

Here's a local bike for sale. What do you think about the price? I've seen the bike in person and it's in great shape. I know the guy and I know he keeps his bikes in great shape, regular maintanence, etc...
I'm having a hardtime coming up with a good offer to make him.
I like the bike and did my homework with the reviews etc... I'm just having a hard time paying $1000 for a used bike that is 4 years old. Help please?!?! Thanks in advance.
