2. Thinking about buy a sport classic.. fogged oil window?   (03 Jun 2009)
Hey guys, I actually live down in the bay area now of San Fran, but i'd liek to get multiple opinions... I'm looking at buying a ducati sport classic, and would like to get your opinion on two things. The first is, I'm looking at buying a Ducati sport Classic. (2007) The original owner dropped the bike at 50 miles, (not that slow at all) his body taking the brunt of the low side. I believe him after seeing the large scar and he has receipts proving the left side of the bike specifically was repl...

3. Any opinions as to why DII 4.6s are eating oil pumps?   (30 Jun 2009)
About a month ago, I did a headjob and cam swap on a dII. Curiously, the lobes serving one bank of the engine were badly worn and the other side, not so much. Sadly, there was much evidence that the headgaskets had been replaced before (bashed bulkhead, scotchbrite evidence on the head sealing surface). At the 500 mile point, the owner took the truck to a Jiffy-Lube sort of shop for a change to synthetic. Even more sadly, they did NOT change the oil filter!!! I got the front cover off and no sur...

4. JB weld a cracked Oil pan...Good idea, or bad Idea   (13 Apr 2009)
I am assuming its a bad idea, but would like your opinions on it. The gash in the oil pan is about the size of a Band aid. Do you think JB weld or any of there other products would work??

5. 2002 Chevy Cavalier A/C compressor oil leak   (14 May 2009)
I'm looking for knowlegable opinions on my problem. I have a 2002 Cavalier with 62,000 miles, I beleive it has the GM V5 compressor. For the past 2 years it has a very slow oil seepage at the control valve, at the bottom of the compressor. It forms a drip every several weeks. The A/C system is still working great, but someday it is going to run out of oil!! At the auto store they have a 2oz oil charge (no refrigerant). I am thinking about adding 1 or 2 ounces of pag 100 or 150 to keep me going f...

6. Diesel Fuel in Engine Oil   (17 May 2009)
Hi, This involves my 1991 300 D 2.5 with 290k miles. I was hoping to get some opinions on what might cause a significant amount of diesel fuel to get into the engine oil. It amounts to about 1 quart of diesel in about 100 miles. Car otherwise runs well. I have changed both fuel filters and installed rebuilt injectors since the problem started. Car runs better with the new injectors, but no change to the diesel in oil problem. I have changed the oil and filter 3 times in the last 200 miles while...

7. JB weld a cracked Oil pan...Good idea, or bad Idea   (10 May 2009)
I am assuming its a bad idea, but would like your opinions on it. The gash in the oil pan is about the size of a Band aid. Do you think JB weld or any of there other products would work??

8. Peak Oil   (31 May 2009)
I haven't seen much discussion concerning peak oil. Maybe I have missed it if so please let me know. For me peak oil is probably one the most troubling problems facing civilization. I'm an engineer and it is in my nature to think things out to their logical conclusion and I can't get over how much our society depends on cheap oil/energy. After thinking about this I have came to the following opinions 1. When production peaks and demand begins to outstrip supply there will be an economic breakdow...

9. I Need Your Opinions!   (18 Jun 2009)
I'm currently in a deep deep debate. I've been thinking more and more about selling my car and starting a project with an 09 or 10. Below is the current(if you don't know) and a mod list. The debate is between taking what i have, dropping 6k on a full drivetrain to match my 2.5 OR selling and buying new. Either way, the plan is to make a show car, so i'll need a DD. This would also mean keeping the current car has a body work expense(couple very minor dents, going to STi front end). Current mods...
