So this past season was my senior year and we got a new coach i have some mixed feelings about him and now that the season is over im curious to get opinions on what you think makes a good lacrosse coach.

NCAA Coaches as Referees at elite Youth/Cadet/JR events Due to the Stanford thread, I started thinking about the interaction between US Fencing and NCAA programs.

1) Given the nature of the NCAA coaches' professional duties, doesn't it seem that a significant conflict of interest exists across the board that would prevent him/her from performing as a referee for these events?

Coaching Dilemma

So I'm coahcing softball (10 and under) and the sideline coaches (parents) are driving me and the girls nuts. How do I tell them to hush-up?
Here's a "brief" email I put together. What say you?

I am thinking about going to Malaga from London by coach in the summer. Has anybody done this journey before or has anybody travelled abroad by coach before? Was it ok? I was thinking about using Eurolines. Thank you x

Do coaches that were former players

I was just thinking about this in regards to Mike Singeltary, Gary Kubiak and probably some others I don't remember right now.
Do you think it is an advantage for these former player coaches over other coaches?
I am thinking it helps because young players may have more respect for a coach who has played at the pro level before. But there are tons of great coaches who never played pro. Tuna, Madden ect.
Just wondering what you might think the differences are and if there is an advantage for some...

With all of these coaching changes as of late, particularly with Abbott going from a "name" coach to a supposed "no-name" coach, and Nagasu doing just the opposite, I started thinking about who IS currently in the upper echelon of coaches right now. I'm sure I've left out several needing mention, but there are only 12 slots available for polls. I've tried to only include coaches that have had at least one student with notable success in the Sr. ranks within the past few years. Just thought this...

What Kind of Sunday Sideline Coach Do You See Rex Ryan Being?

I was thinking about this last night before I went to bed. I asked myself "I wonder what kind of sideline coach Rex Ryan will be come sundays?" Will he be one of those coaches that gets up in players faces and confronts them if they make a bonehead play? Will he be a shouter or more subdude, etc...What are your thoughts? How do you see him handling his sideline
