I have watched from a distance the ongoing battle to *regain" Truck.Net. I have kept quiet, with minor exception and I figure now is as good a time as any to hit the fan with it.

Firstly I must state most adamantly that this is not a swipe at Moebius because they have restored my faith in preserving my inner child... And also pre apologies to any who may take offense should this seem a bit of a rant. So mods if you feel its in the wrong spot just do your thing.

So a few here know my MX6, some do not. But I decided to let the Camaro go when I got a great offer on it and I am batting around 2 idea's, sell the MX6 and buy a 300zx which I can keep getting value out of... or push the MX6 further and know I am not going to get my money back out of it. (If I go the 300zx route I would be selling the MX6)
So I have been looking... and I found a few possibles for 300zx's. But I frankly have so many mods and so much work into the MX6 I would be sad to let go of...

Anyone else ride Tricross mostly on road?

Let me know if this is wrong forum, but looking for advice - figures some in the cross category might have done something similar:
I have an '08 Specialized Tricross Sport that I purchased last year before I knew much what I was doing in cycling. Still don't know that much, but find that I am riding almost exclusively on road and paved trails (150-200 miles per week) and looking to join some stronger group rides.
I think I should really be on a road bike - but don't have $2k handy to put down on...

Merida Cyclo Cross 5 for 1 year tour?

Me and a friend are leaving for a 1 year tour in a couple of months. We might get some bikes cheaper/for free from Merida, and we have been looking at the Cyclo Cross 5 ( http://www2.merida-bikes.com/en_INT/Bikes.Detail.191 ). A lot of the tour will go trough Africa, so the roads might not always be that good. What do you guys think about this bike as a touring bike? Anybody know if the Tubus Tara and Cargo will fit on it? Any other bikes you recommend instead (preferrably from Merida since...

Specialized Tricross sport vs. Fuji cross comp

I'm planning on doing my first 'cross race in a few weeks.
I currently have a Tricross Sport that I purchased last December. I bought it because it was the first 'cross bike that I found in a shop that fit me. I've ridden the bike a lot on and off road and it has served me well. One thing that I liked about the bike was that is has eyelets to attach racks and appears that I could use it for touring. I even sold my Trek 520 touring bike.

Thinking about selling and going auto

Anyone gone from a manual transmission to an automatic without regrets? I have been thinking of selling it and getting the same year/model but automatic. Sometimes I just get tired of the shifting, especially when I am running the A/C and the car lags so much (and there are many roads here that are on hills). Since I use the A/C a lot here, driving the manual requires being even more precise shifting and clutch/gas pedal coordination to achieve a smooth ride (I'm too impatient for that sometimes...

Carbon Fork for Cross-Check

Hey all - thought I would ask the collective. I've got a cross-check that is built up as a strong commuter. I'm currently running the stock Surly fork and during my 30 mile round trip commute I've been thinking about running a carbon fiber fork. Anyone have any suggestions or experience they would like to pass along?

Crazy that this seems to be a serious trend on this board recently, but I too am at a cross roads with my accord. It's been in my family since it was bought with 13 miles on it off of the lot. It's been mine since I bought it back in 2004 from my mom.
