Revealed: The Worlds Most Complete Player
There has been much speculation about who the best footballer in the world is, with, and in no particular order, Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Steven Gerrard receiving most nominations. While a cogent argument can be made for any of the above, when it comes to identifying the world`s most complete player, the task is much easier.
He started his career as a defender, b...

Elano: 'I have to play. It just proves what I said was right
(09 May 2009)
Elano is the Manchester City player who, above all others, should have been basking in the afterglow of Abu Dhabi investment this season.
In April last year he began one of the last games under the club's previous owner Thaksin Shinawatra as a stand-in right-back. City lost 3-2 to Fulham, a catastrophic home defeat which saw the man who signed him, Sven-Goran Eriksson, heading out of the door.
Yet within four months his compatriots were riding to his rescue on an Arabian magic carpet. First, wit...

Another thread about FOX Sports(LA).
(09 Apr 2009)
Well this isn't to discuss if it's too meixcan too argentinean or whatever. But as you may know(or in case you didn't know) starting next season FOX Sports(Unsure about other parts but in Latin America) will broadcast the UEFA Champions League, UEFA League Europe and UEFA Super Cup, which has been announced by some commentators in Libertadores' matches. Which until now in these parts was broadcasted by ESPN, ESPN+, and i think ESPN2 in the northern South America, also in Argentina the wednesdays...

Moving The Goal Posts
(18 May 2009)
Talk about moving the goal posts, I remember Hughes courting the worlds media, talk of at least a top 6 finish so good he thought the squad was who knows what we might achieve with a tinker here and a tinker there with investment he said, judge me on a season he said, I can handle the pressure at a club like this.
So lets judge him on a season, he split the dressing room with fall outs with key players, put us out of two domestic cups at the first hurdle, we stumbled through the UEFA Cup and wen...

Croatian Clubs in Europe 2009-2010
(22 Jun 2009)
Champions League: Dinamo Zagreb
Europa League: Hajduk Split, NK Rijeka, Slaven Belupo
As many of us know, starting this season there have been many changes in the European club format. Dinamo Zagreb now have a more manageable route to the Champions League group stage, where they will only play league champions from the leagues ranked 14th and lower. It still will not be easy, but Dinamo, if they build a strong squad, have the best chance to finally make it to the "big time". Another positive for...

FIFA's 6+5 Rule.
(26 Jun 2009)
The Rule
At the beginning of each match, each club must field at least 6 players eligible to play for the national team of the country of the club. However, there is no restriction on the number of non-eligible players under contract with the club, nor on substitutes to avoid non-sportive constraints on the coaches (potentially 3+8 at the end of a match).
The objective is to have an incremental implementation starting at the beginning of the 2010-2011 season to give clubs time to adjust their te...

Van Basten quits Ajax
(06 May 2009)
After failure this season Marco has throwen the towel. He didn't think things were gonna go better next season and he's walked away. Really disappointed with Marco, although it doesn't really surprise I think it's very weak of him to walk away after one disappointing season. He got basicly everything he wanted from the board and he got a 4 year contract. Eventhough the results have been really disappointing I doubt the board were gonna fire him. We could have expected him to have more determinat...

Who is the greatest Brittish manager of all time?
(24 May 2009)
With Sir Alex Ferguson close to equalling Bob Paisleys record of managing 3 European Cup wins, it got me thinking about who is the greatest British manager of all time. It is a wonderful topic to debate and my personal opinion is that Sir Alex Ferguson has indeed become the greatest of all time. Here is a list of those who I believe are contenders and their achievements from of the top of my head. If anybody has any others that I have overlooked, then I have created the other option in the po...

THE BOYCOTT OF STEVEN COHEN AND WORLD S0CCER DAILY
(27 May 2009)
On April 15, 2009 the football world stopped to remember the 20th anniversary of the Hillsborough disaster, where 96 innocent fans were needlessly crushed to death. News outlets the world around remembered the facts of the tragedy, and mourned its horrible human and psychological cost. A lone voice, Steven Cohen decided to sully this solemn remembrance by repeating lies about the cause of the tragedy to a US audience less exposed to the facts of the matter, pinning blame for the dead on the supp...
