What, in your opinion, is the most luxurious cream or soap that you have tried? By luxurious, I mean the soap or cream you wait all week to really indulge yourself with on the weekend or on vacation. Opinions on Institut Karite Cream vs. Soap

I have some of the IK soap and really like it. I'm more of a "cream type of guy" though. I'm considering buying some Institut Karite cream but looking at the reviews section has given me second thoughts. The review and a follow-up post basically state that the cream is inferior to the soap.
Has anyone tried both and can offer an opinion?

I don't know how it happened.
I've been DE shaving for almost two years, and used to have a den full of creams. Yesterday I realized that it's been two weeks since I've used a cream.
I think it's because I'm finding that, for me, soaps are slicker -- they don't produce the superfluous "puffs" of lather that you have to even out (that get in the way of the blade if you don't), it sticks closer to my face without being fluffy. Also, I feel like I'm more in charge of the lather, if that makes any s...

Could a New Soap take off?

I was just thinking about how the successful soaps are all pretty old, and anything relatively new has pretty much flopped for quite some time now. (eg Night & Day)
Does anyone actually see a new soap seriously contending with the big boys in the near future? Because I really cant see anything new ever realistically challenging the likes of EE or Corrie in the ratings!

soap stone carving

I'm thinking about buying a few pounds of soap stone and making a whole bunch of assorted pipes, and that such. Anyone have any experience? I'm planning on selling them. I read online that you can get a pound for like $1.50 put you have to buy like 50 pounds at a time.

Fellas-
I've been thinking about what the best combos are for Cream/Soaps and AS/Balms... BUT, I am curious to know your favorites are that aren't the same scent or brand (i.e. something like Nancy Boy Signature Cream and Hydrolast Peppermint ASB.... as opposed to T&H 1805 Cream and ASB).
Mine would be Trumpers GFT Cream and Baxters ASB...

hay everyone what do you store your soaps in i.e., metal tins or what ever i am trying to get good ideas or were to find stuff.
i am thinking about using a 2oz candle tin kinda like a pomade tin, any thoughts

so I started wetshaving about a month ago with my VDH started set, Very nice, and got my first irritation free BBS shave today with it (thanks to kyle's prep and a new blade I got from west coast shaving, astra)
I also got a brick of Col Conks that I like too.
now I'm looking for a Nice Third soap
I'm Mainly Looking at MWF, MamaBear, and Tabac, but I'm open to others
