Gore in novels - Yay or nay?
(18 May 2009)
I'm interested in others' opinions, since I'm in two minds about violence/gore in novels, myself.
Give me a war story and I'll devour it and while the violence may bother/disgust/upset me, I will feel that in that particular setting it is realistic and expected. The same with crime novels.
On the other hand, however, I often shy away from, say, horror novels with the potential to be gory, since I'll most certainly find them upsetting and feel that said gore was written simply to try and be... we...

(10 Apr 2009)
Metroid Prime
Star Wars Rogue Leader: Rogue Squadron II
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door
Metroid Prime 2: Echoes
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Super Smash Bros. Melee
Tales of Symphonia
Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance
Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean
Mega Man Anniversary Collection
So, is it worth it? Also, I particularly want games that don't have too much gore, obscene stuff, or anything too violent. If you know games like that, plz p...

Spin Doctors: Steven Jackson vs. Frank Gore
By Brandon Funston
There are certainly parallels to draw between Steven Jackson and Frank Gore (notes) . Both are fully featured running backs for NFC West squads that haven't enjoyed much success in their careers. And both will enter the 2009 season at the age of 26. But who should be selected first in fantasy drafts leading up to Week 1? Brandon Funston and Scott Pianowski have differing opinions, and state their case in...

Al Gore: Arrogant man-pig proud of his corruption
(26 Apr 2009)
YouTube - Gore To Blackburn: If You Think It's...
Notice how he isn’t able to simply say NO.
He must obfuscate to cover up his invested interest.
The nervous laugh is the tip off, and his arrogance tops it off.
Now, think about the outrage that the lefties would be making if this were some high level executive or Republican talking about their investments that they were trying to have worked into federal law.
He's proud of his corruption.
Certainly is, and at the expense of us all.

Matador gored by bull
(31 May 2009)
Bull: 1 Israel Lancho: 0
A bull has mauled a Spanish matador, Israel Lancho, so bad that he had to be rushed to hospital in Spain for a massive and life thretening wound to the stomach.
Thousands of shocked spectators in the Spanish city of Madrid at the Las Ventas bullring watched on as Israel Lancho was severly wounded by the ramgaiging bull.
Local media in Las Ventas say Israel Lancho is in a very serious condition in hospital after a 25 centimeter or 10 inch wound to his stomach. The bull su...

As I sat here watching Bill Maher, I kept thinking about honor...
(16 May 2009)
Be it amongst thieves or those claim divine inspiration or just plain professional political commentators, honor came to mind.
For the past eight years, there has been an awful lot of talk about doing the right thing, about protecting the American people from harm with the dire caveat at any cost added for effect. This sentiment, of course, goes hand in hand with the pragmatic theme that the ends truly do justify the means. The two republicans on the panel were definitely subscribers to the prag...

Al Gore Is a Greenhouse Gasbag
(15 Jun 2009)
by: John Marchese
It's the last day of November, which means winter begins in three weeks. Yet the temperature on the Penn campus is nearing 70 degrees, and it's muggy. Walking to the offices of the Department of Earth and Environmental Science from a remote parking lot makes me sweaty. Global Warming.
Driving here this morning, I heard a report on WHYY from National Public Radio that the International Ski Federation was canceling races because there's no snow in the Alps. Got to be Global Warmi...

Frank Zappa, Al Gore and the PMRC (very long read)
(10 Jun 2009)
This is a transcript of Frank Zappa's statement at the PMRC hearings, 09/19/85. Before we proceed, a little bit of information:
PMRC: The Parents Music Resource Center (PMRC) was an American committee formed in 1985 by four women: Tipper Gore, wife of Senator and later Vice President Al Gore; Susan Baker, wife of Treasury Secretary James Baker; Pam Howar, wife of Washington realtor Raymond Howar; and Sally Nevius, wife of Washington City Council Chairman John Nevius . They were known as the "Was...

Something to think about!
(14 May 2009)
HELLO ALL!
Hahaha. My first topic!
I love this series, but I find myself thinking about what I might change. For instance, instead of having the challenge mode- which I never found too enthralling myself, why not have a mini fighting game like the original DW?
One of my friends thinks that this would be the greatest video game series if they added blood and gore- something I am not sure I want to see happen.
What are your guys' thoughts? I know the usual: more characters, more maps, etc., et...
