WHAT THE SHARPS ARE THINKING ABOUT THE NBA PLAYOFFS
The first round of the NBA playoffs gets under way this weekend with eight series. As we've done with all the other legal betting sports, I wanted to tell you what the sharps (professional wagerers) were thinking entering this big attraction.
I'll take you series by series in this report. Then, I'll pop in with more basketball in the coming days as the schedule permits. If interesting storylines develop...

Dukes & Woodson: Ravens won't make playoffs

I was watching NFL Total Access, and the topic came up that on average only 6 of 12 playoff teams make the playoffs the following year. So Jamie Dukes and Rod Woodson were asked to name the 6 playoff teams from 2008 that WON'T make the playoffs in 2009. The Ravens were on BOTH their lists.
I was a bit surprised, but after thinking about it a bit I think that the popular reasoning for thinking the Ravens won't make the playoffs in 2009 will be the loss of Rex Ryan.

LOL! I sooo did the same ting, but the Hockey playoffs were last night and DH wasn't going anywhere- I'm still contemplating Too funny!

NHL or NBA Playoffs

I was thinking about this today, with an NBA and NHL playoff game both on TV right now. Which would you rather watch? For me it's the NHL. Way more intense.

I certainly do.
Looking at both conferences, I can't pick out a boring series. And watching the Wings/Ducks, Canes/Bruins, and especially the Pens/Caps series (in the 2nd round) all go to 7 games, is probably the best thing that could ever happen to Bettman and the NHL.
There is no sure winner in any series, like every playoffs, but these playoffs just seem to favour that statement a little more.
Playoffs get A's for drama, intensity, and entertainment in my mind.

The Orioles can make the playoffs this year

All the Orioles need is for at least 4 starters to start throwing strikes and not give up so many runs, a solid closer to materialize from somewhere and the bottom third of their lineup to produce. The team not only would overcome 11 years of losing, they could also be the favorites to reach post-season. What does everyone think about that?

49ers possibly pursuing Vick.. possible playoff contenders?

I hope so.. I believe Vick learned his lesson and he has learned from his mistakes. Let's give him another chance. I am at least.
Think about this, Niners fans. If this happens, on offense we got Vick, Gore, Crabtree, promising Josh Morgan and Jason Hill, and Isaac Bruce, and Vernon Davis.
Defense we now have Dre Bly from Denver, Patrick Willis, Nate Clements, Justin Smith, hopefully Marc Roman again if he doesnt go to another team, Takeo Spikes, etc.
