1. Dr. Phil's comment, "the best indicator of future behavior is past behavior...   (20 May 2009)
dr. phil has always said "the best indicator of future behavior is past behavior." i always agreed with him,but i've been really thinking about this. i am so NOT the person i was when i was 20 and got married the first time. i was selfish and immature. i'm 38 now and i have changed so much. i'm willing to read any self-help book i can on relationships, improving myself,i pray ALOT,anything to continue to improve myself. back then i honestly could have cared less and wouldn't have touched a self-h...

2. Does a person's sexual behavior influence your opinion   (05 May 2009)
One of C's brothers and his wife (she was my MOH) have split up. He has accused her of having an affair, saying he found evidence of her planning to meet some guy "on the internet" (I'm thinking that means he broke into her email). At first I thought it was a bunch of BS, but the more I think about it, the more I cannot rule out the possibility that perhaps she has been having an affair. I'm not saying she has been, but I can't say without a doubt that she hasn't, KWIM? She texted me today and s...

3. Family Dysfunction / Attention Deficit Disorder / Unintelligent behavior   (05 Jul 2009)
Is it learned or is it in your genetics? Or some twisted, noir version of both? I've been thinking about this a lot lately. Coming from the southern United States, I come from a pretty dysfunctional, alcoholic-redneck family -- to be harshly blunt. Now, I was diagnosed with ADD when I was 13 or so and have been on medication for it since. Looking back, it seems that most of my behavior was learned. My parents were disorganized, they were anti-intellectual, they just didn't care if I did whatever...

4. Challenging Behavior--8 month old   (16 May 2009)
I'm not entirely sure where I'm headed with all of this so please pardon the rambliness; I'll try to be as succinct as possible. Lately, my daughter is driving me crazy. She figured out crawling about 2 months ago and wants to explore, explore, explore, which isn't that bad. She's also really, really wanting to walk and climb. She can pull herself up on things, and she's also fairly comfortable with climbing over me if I'm on the floor. None of the above is the problem. What I'm finding challeng...

5. 9.04 - weird behavior   (23 May 2009)
Hi there: I just bought an Acer Aspire AX 3200 - 3 cpu 8450 AMD (64 bits) - 4GB - 640 GB hard drive - monitor acer H213H - windows vista home premium 64 bits Then I install Ubuntu 9.04 64bits and a wireless usb D-Link DWA 130 (revision C) Until now, I still can't make the wireless card work with Ubuntu. But it's just not that. The behavior of the machine under Ubuntu really drives me crazy. At first, whenever I launch Firefox, the whole system crashes miserably. However, when I replace the monit...

6. Normal 5 year old behavior   (16 Apr 2009)
I'm not around many children these days so I don't have much to compare him to, but I sometimes think my bf's 5-year-old half brother is slightly abnormal. I know it's easy to be judgemental of other people's children, especially if you have no children of your own, so I'm trying to keep an open mind. And maybe all kids are pretty weird when you get down to it. If you think about it, a 5-year-old is being totally honest all the time, just being himself. He hasn't started to understand social beh...

7. To Clutch: Let The Cat Out The Bag On Rons Behavior   (03 Jul 2009)
This part of justice article got me thinking about what Clutch said about Artest during the trading dead line in a previous thread. He didn't wanna tell us cause Ron was still here. I'm curious to know some of Ron's "Antics" last year that we didn't see. Care to elaborate Clutch? Quote: : As for the Rockets, Artest will not be missed by the coaches or players. There was just too much craziness, too many wild mood swings, too much selfishness.

8. Carp's behavior   (10 May 2009)
I've had this couple of times: fishing one of my favorite carp spots and witness carps playing, jumping out of the water literally within feets from my bait or from the shore where I'm standing, cruising around it and just won't take any of my offerings. Is it me or it's them being in the playfull mood that just can't get them thinking about the food?

9. Odd behavior or wierd isshhh you do.   (28 May 2009)
When putting on gloves or shoes/boots that I haven't worn in a awhile or I left in the garage, I'm petrified there might be a spider or something inside. As soon as I put them on, I maneuver my hands or toes so that I will crush any bug that could be inside. Watching somebody take a bite out of a popsicle with their front teeth gives me goosebumps like crazy. Just thinking about it makes me cringe. And then there's spiders. Probably the single most disturbing and vile creatures on Earth.

10. Neighbor's bad Disney behavior   (24 Apr 2009)
My neighbor was telling me about their recent WDW trip, and I had a few thoughts I thought my fellow Dis-ers would appreciate. First of all, they didn't do it right! No "game plan," which gives me a panic attack just thinking about. Then she asked me if I wanted to buy a child's ticket at a discount. I asked why they had an extra. She said, "oh, no one ever asked for (3-year-old son's) ticket, so we just kept it." Ummm.... OK. You obviously KNEW he needed a ticket because you bought one for him....
