What I am thinking about doing for a fuel system. Feedback please.
(03 May 2009)
My current fuel system is inadequate to support my current needs. I have already purchased the Aeromotive Boost Ref Fuel Pressure regulator and the MagnaFuel 4301 inline pump. My original plan was to sump the tank and toss out the walbro 255 and stock regulator setup. The more I think about it, the less I want my tank sumped. For some reason, I have a major hang-up about dropping the tank and welding on it. I am thinking of doing this instead. Your thoughts and any pitfalls that I may run into w...

Fuel pressure regulator or fuel pump
(24 Apr 2009)
I have my suspicions, but want to see what everyone else thinks:
Well, was driving the stang, and it died. would start and stop immediatey, Notice the fuel pressure was around 25. so turned the switch off, back on and went to 25 and started to leak down. Fuel pump was cycling.
Trouble shooting: grounded the fuel pump wire in the diagnostic port, fuel pump continue to run, guage went to 45 and stayed there, tried to start the car, attempted to start but wouldn't. replace fuel filter, same thing....

Suspect Fuel Pump - opinions
(11 May 2009)
1988 Mercruiser 350 Magnum
Fished all day yesterday with no issues. This morning at 5:30, engine fired for a second and quit. Would not restart. Check and found spark so went for fuel issues.
Ended up hooking up a portable fuel tank with bulb from my outboard. Pump up a bit and it would run as long as I kept a little pressure on the bulb. So I'm thinking fuel pump.
Any other suggestions or ideas?

Has your fuel pump ever failed?
(05 May 2009)
Hey Guys.
I have 47K on my 2000 RSV. Was wondering if anyone had a fuel pump fail and, at 9.5 years old, how long I could expect mine to last.
I don't have any issues yet, but was thinking about picking up a lightly used pump from a newer, low mileage bike and stowing it (along with a spare coil and maybe ignition switch, Ha!) for some breakdown insurance when I take long trips.
Any histories/war stories on nuisance/premature pump failures on 2nd Gens?
Thanks.

Do I need a new fuel pump?
(04 Jun 2009)
I have a Carter Fuel pump on a Mercruiser V6 4.3L Alpha 1 262 205HP 1989. I took the fuel pump off for inspection trying to trouble shoot my fuel system, The porus stone filter is blue in color, the clear yellow line is clogged with a reddish oil substances as is the inlet tube where it connects on the pump, it also has deposit looking things on various parts inside the pump. is there a way to know if I need a new pump? A few different opinions would be great...Thanks!

92 slc will crank just won't turn over completely. Fuel Pump?
(20 Jun 2009)
I'm thinking about buying my friends 92 slc vr6 from him but it's not running right now and it definitely needs a little work. The car ran pretty well when it would start but it's been about a year or so since the car has run. We charged the battery and replaced the fuel pump relay so no I'm thinking it's the fuel pump. It will crank it just won't turn over. Any help would be awesome.

165hp Mercruiser Fuel Pump!!!
(21 May 2009)
I have a 1971 165hp Mercruiser. I am thinking about switching to an Electronic fuel pump. I can't really find much info on them. I was wondering if anyone knows of an Electric fuel pump that I can use on this motor that isn't terribly expensive. Thanks
