Thinking about naming of utility classes in java
(17 May 2009)
I am looking for naming guidlines for non functional (utility) extensions of the common classes.
In c# I used to use some of this:
1) ListExtensions, too long but with extension methods ListExtensions never appears. Usage is just. var productList = new List(); productList.MyExtendedMehod();
2) ListHelpers. This was in old C# 2.0 era, usage is ListHelpers.MyExtendedMethod(productList );
Now I am diving with java. What I have learned is Collections, Arrays classes. So how do you name your helper c...

Hey, new guy thinking about a Magnum
(11 Jun 2009)
Hey all.
I'm thinking about trading my Avalanche for a Magnum. Going to be a new daddy next month, and would like to cut some costs...
I found a 2008 SXT with 12k miles for $15888, and it seems to be a clean car, and from what I've seen online it's a pretty decent deal. I'm just not sure. I've had several people tell me I should go with an older one, cause they're easier to mod, and some parts have changed for the worse. Well, I'm not really worried about modding (I have enough other projects fo...

Utility for adding or modifying the copyright note in each source file?
(07 May 2009)
Is there is an utility to change or modify the source code copyright notes in all source code files? I'm thinking about writing one in Python for myself, but perhaps there is already a solution available. Some template text with fields to fill in would be nice, too. It should also be somewhat intelligent about the language, i.e. i want it for java and python.

Thinking about creating a Chosen . . .
(30 Apr 2009)
Hello Chosen community;
I am currently a 40/46 WH and have been slowly losing interest in the game of Warhammer. In order to revitalize my interests, I was thinking about creating a chosen. I am looking for a good offensive tank; someone who can tank when need be but who really focuses on 2h assault (I"m more of a scenario guy, but understand in oRvR it's shield time). After reading the forums and seeing how dissatisfied many are with the class in its current state, I have become somewhat skepti...

utility of crannys
(09 May 2009)
A couple friends and I recently joined Travian. Both of them have been raided of fairly substantial (for our size) amounts of resources, whereas I have not. My guess is it's because I've kept my resources under my cranny limit for the most part (under the total, not what Teutes can take). At 2000 a cranny it seems like having more than two isn't worth it.
I was just wondering what people's opinions are about how many crannys to build in your cities and if new cities should even bother with crann...

Good JBL/Altec Utility Cab. Gray Paint?
(24 Apr 2009)
After unsuccesfully trying to give away an ugly but solid Altec A-7 cabinet, I've decided to go ahead and fix it up. I stripped off some cruddy veneer and sanded everything down and am getting ready to paint. Any opinions on particularly good or bad gray spray paints for a utility cabinet?

Will 1.3 change the way we think about our builds?
(20 May 2009)
Currently I believe each point put in a path increases the damage is rather low compared to what you gain from utility and stat contribution. But in 1.3 the damage increase from stat contribution will be based off the abilities base damage, hence 15 points in your main build might become a necessity?

Commercial D&D utility
(21 Apr 2009)
Hi all,
I'm thinking about creating a utility for use with D&D 4th edition (and probably nothing else - it's that specific) and then making some money off it by selling it. I thought I'd be honest up front.
My questions are:
(note: I've read some of this thread http://forums.gleemax.com/showthread.php?t=1169106 but it doesn't answer my questions 100%)
- Is this in breach of any of WotC's licenses or IP boundaries? (I was thinking of using some specific D&D terms like 'hit-points' and 'initiative...

Utility Tractors, advice
(07 Apr 2009)
Had a crew in to give me a Quote: for some much needed dirt & drainage work on our small 3.5 acre place. From the Quote: of $19,000, if I reduce it to just the dirt work stuff it was $10,000. Hubba wondered if we would be better off purchasing a small utility tractor. We've rented Bobcats before to tidy things up- the burns and barn lot.
So, if you were going to venture into a smaller tractor purchase- Kubota and John Deere dealers are available in our area- which size small tractor would you re...

Pyro's should become the utility class.
(21 Jun 2009)
Think about it. Right now, offensively, they aren't too hot. They're outclassed by pretty much every other combat class, and their only real saving grace is the Airblast. So what would make them useful, in an competitive environment?
Make them be credit to team. It'd be great. In the vein of the other topic that talks about cross class combination's (such as the Flamethrower+Arrow=Flaming Arrows combo that exists currently), he should be able to buff every other class in some small way, to make...
