What kids think about tandems.
(01 Jun 2009)
Just got into riding a tandem. My 7 year is my stoker and is a real champ. When riding through the neighborhoods I am amazed at the comments from other kids who see us. Most think its so cool. Some run along side of us just to get a glimpse of our machine. It really makes my daughter feel special and that's priceless to me.
First ride we ever took, went to our local park. Other kids wanted their picture taken.

Thinking about moving
(01 Jul 2009)
Hello,
I have an opportunity in my career to pick from a few different regions, and cities to move to. Currently, I have narrowed it down to D.C., Texas, Georgia, and Washington State. I know, I know those are all so different, but that's what I'm looking for, a change.
I was hoping that people would just share personal opinions, feelings, likes and dislikes about the DC area. I have kids so I am also interested in the most kid friendly neighborhoods, schools, crime, etc. Really, anything would...

What Do You All Think About gluten-free Foods?
(09 Jun 2009)
Hi! I'm a student intern for a celiac magazine and I was hoping to get teens and kids opinions on gluten free foods and dealing with eating gluten free at school and in restaurants. I'd love to hear your guys' opinion and experiences and Quote: you in the magazine, if you're okay with that. I'm fairly lucky, I go to Virginia Tech and all the nutritional information for every single food item is online, so I know exactly what I can eat and what I can't. Unfortunately, I'm fairly limited to the sa...

Waddya kids think about this 20D deal?
(11 Jun 2009)
A friend has asked me to find her a DSLR for cheap on Craigs.
I got a 20D + 18-55mm which according to the owner has 54,000 "Actuation Multiplier" as reported to him by Samy's camera.
The 18-55 has an Hoya UV and there is a Tamrac 5627 Bag and 2x2GB Ultra II CF cards. All for $400.
What kinda software gives you the Actuation multiplier on a 20D body? And is that the true shutter count?

I've got some freinds who grew up in Co. springs and are try to convince us to move. I've been to co. 3-4 times for various reasons and loved it each time. from what i've been reading, Colorado Springs seem like a decent place to live, altough i've never been there.
I work as a GM tech, altough that can for sure change as I'd like to go back to school again. My wife w...

So having kids is not very eco-friendly when you think about it.
(09 Jun 2009)
When you think about it. Since every person while they live will end up using natural resources that cause pollution, as such the less people there are on earth the demand for products that use our natural ressources and pollute the earth will also be diminished.
A household compromised of 2 people (2 adults no kids) will have a smaller carbon footprint over a period 20 years than a household compromised of 6 (2 adults 4 kids) people.
This leads me to believe that abortions are in a strange way...

Things to think about kids
(06 Jul 2009)
1. You spend the first two years of their life teaching them to walk and talk. Then you spend the next sixteen telling them to sit down and shut up.
2. Grandchildren are God's reward for not killing your own children.
3. Mothers of teens now know "why" some animals eat their young.
4. Children seldom miss Quote: you. In fact, they usually repeat word for word what you shouldn't have said.
5. The main purpose of holding children's parties is to remind yourself that there "are" children more awful...
