Mystery rumbing noise.
(24 Apr 2009)
Posted earlier about an odd noise from the rear. From my initial post I led people on OOF to point towards a wheel bearing fault. It seems this may not be the case
Just to recap, the rumbling grating only appears when turning left at slow speeds with the engine under load (i.e. not coasting).
During high speed left hand cornering and in a straight line the noise is not present.
It can make the noise when sat stationary in 'D' and I blip the throttle.
It also seems to come more from the centre/re...

It Is What It Is - The Discourses of Rumi - Intro
(27 Apr 2009)
Years ago I posted to alt.religion.eckankar sections from my book, The
Silent Questions and also my other book The Whole Truth, before they
were published. I thought I might do this with my new book, It Is What
It Is - The Discourses of Rumi, if folks on ARE would find this
interesting. I also look forward to feedback.
Here is the intro to the book. It is a bit long for a post, but I
thought it would be best to include the whole thing.
If more about the book sounds interesting, let me know. I...

Discourse 4.
Someone said: "There is something I have forgotten."
Rumi replied: There is one thing in this world that must never be
forgotten. If you were to forget all else, but did not forget that,
then you would have no reason to worry. But if you performed and
remembered everything else, yet forgot that one thi...

Sooo, Figging Anyone?
(07 Apr 2009)
Figging is the sacred art of peeling ginger root into a dildo or buttplug and inserting it inside. It's supposed to create a burning sensation that is delicious, especially when you're spanked. Cause you clinch to make the impact less, but then you squeeze around the ginger root and it feels intense. It's also supposed to feel really good on your clit.
I read that in women, the ginger helps arouse too.
I'm not one for putting things in my rump, so I'd rather put it in my lady parts, but i guess...

Adding a fan to a basic welder
(11 May 2009)
I have a basic stick welder (SIP Merlin 150), which I have had for many
years, but only use very infrequently (certainly less than once a year
on average!)
However, one of the irritations on the rare occasions that I do use it,
is its very poor duty cycle. Even on low currents, it will only weld (or
for that matter even stay switched on) for a few mins and then needs
quite a long period of rest[1].
I was thinking about adding a 240vac fan to its case somewhere to aid
cooling etc. Before I spend...

Rome and the Lego
(11 May 2009)
I was thinking about the generally accepted, and rightly so, idea that the Romans had a propensity towards advanced engineering which made me wonder why? Why would these people have, or develop if you want, this remarkable skill for building, but even more so, engineering in general? Now I know cultures have built things on a grand scale forever but as I understand it, Rome just took all these things other folks did and did them better. Which I suppose in some way describes Rome in generalÂ…takin...

Dr. Mike's TSD All-stars!
(23 May 2009)
Alright, I've been thinking about this for a while, and I thought I would take a moment to call attention to some people on here that have made TSD an incredibly enjoyable place. This is not meant to be all inclusive, and I will probably add names to the list. There is no standard that I use to pick these people, and it is all purely subjective. Anyways, here they are in no particular order.
