How fast can water absorb heat from combustion gas to produce steam
(17 Apr 2009)
I have been working for many years on a true rotary engine project that will use injected water at 1500-psi and 263-F to cool super-hot combustion gas down to an intermediate temperature level of 1400-F. (combustion at all operating speeds is stoicheometric, approaching 4000-F). This commingled combustion gas and steam then goes through isentropic expansion until it exhausts from the cylinder at only 19.6-psi and 312-F. The engine is a 440 cubic inch displacement single cycle machine, that produ...

Produce of Dam, and Get of Sire classes
(22 Jun 2009)
I am going to a show in a few weeks and am thinking about entering these classes. I am taking enough horses of similar breeding to enter:
- one group in Produce of Dam class
- two different groups for Get of Sire class (multiple horses by two different stallions)
Should I enter? I am assuming that these classes will somehow add to my USEF Breeders year end totals?
Any advice for entering these classes?
ThanxIA

Good digital camera able to produce print quality images?
(11 Apr 2009)
My fairly rubbish camera has recently broken and with many travels coming up over the next couple of months, I am in need of something easy to learn to use as well as use, that isn't very expensive but can produce print-quality images.
I will not end up using any fancy frills and extras, I never do, but I do need something that can take pictures of at least 300 dpi and that does a lot of it without me having to think about it (yet makes the pictures look like a pro has taken them ).
Would apprec...

JJ Abrams To Produce Mission: Impossible 4
(14 Jun 2009)
Ive heard rumblings for a while now that a fourth Mission: Impossible film is in development. Last we heard. Tom Cruise claimed on a Japanese television show that he was working on the story right now and has been thinking about how to stage a big action sequence in downtown Tokyo. I just assumed that Cruise was talking out of his behind. And there have even been rumours that the fourth film could be a complete reboot.
Well now JJ Abrams confirms to TV Guide that he will be reteaming with T...

is it possible to produce a project on remote location?
(24 Jun 2009)
by exchanging demoes and opinions? anyone tried this?
I started looking for a person to help me with production of my band - let's say, just one somg? but nobody here locally who could do that.
I am thinking of production as "pre-production" actually; as in shaping songs, etc. Not studio work.

Put DCS at the top of the Shelf! and help ED to to produce more DCS titels...
(06 May 2009)
Hello -
First of all: I love DCS:BlackShark
I spotted it the first time in the German FS-Magazine
And what can I say- since than I never fired FSX for a helicopter ride up again!
And I had really had a hard time to get this Simulator - not because it is so hard to get here in Germany - no -it is because you can't spot it the shops!
You have to look among Fishing and Sailing simulations...
Think about that I got my DCS copy also only by "accident".
I bought the FS-Magazine only because I wanted t...

What do you think about your Bluehouse Skis? Just curious...
(20 Apr 2009)
I have to be honest: they suck. I bought the quiver, hassled through the decambering issue, returned the Maven's because they're soft and girly, and the Mr's, well... I never skied them, I hated them so much.
Am I an exceptional case?
There were so many inconsistencies with fabrication, like the thickness of the sidewalls on the Maven's, lots of chipping on many of the skis, from what I heard. I mean, they're made in China.
Maybe next year?
Customer service was a 9/10, though. I guess they have...

What do we think about Cedric Benson? (lengthy orig post fixed)
(21 May 2009)
Quote: I mean he looked really good last year. The staff seemed to believe in his "resurrection" by not drafting a RB save some headcase in the 7th round out of Abilene Christian"? They drafted nothing but help for Benson by spending their early picks on OL/C/TE, and improving their defense (which usually only helps running backs, especially the rb1's). Yet he is Ranked 31 in redraft and 42 dynasty? He's still relatively young, and if his head is right immensely talented? Am I missing something?...

For you guys investing in NG Plays .... something to think about . ..
Confirms what I figured out well over a a year ago ....
CEO of Encana today:
Technology broke open the opportunities to produce shale gas, once notorious for being a difficult resource to make economical, EnCana president and chief executive Randy Eresman said.
"We have vast resources now at much lower costs and, as a result of that, we believe that North America is flush with natural gas and will be for a very long time," he...

What do you think about the TRL
(20 May 2009)
What do you think about the TRL Just got my June issue of Bloodlines and I looked at the TRL. If my calculations are right , 4 of the top 10 are dead or cannot produce pups anymore.
Is it possible that the standard needs to be 50 or 75 pups instead of 100? Is it possible that by the time we recognize a top reproducer , he is either dead or 10 years old and has limited ability to reproduce?
On the other hand , I like a large sampling of pups to get an accurate reading , and it should't be ''easy'...
