Windows Home Server (WHS) is a new product from microsoft.
I have been beta testing it and using it since the beginning of this year. I am not a WHS expert but can offer my experience and opinions on it. I am using WHS on a home network of mixed wired/wireless PCs and laptops of various OS, with ~1 TB of storage. WHS is new, and like all new systems has some problems but is basically stable and great potential for the home.

AMD Based Home Server + Office PC

Hello,
Since my dad's PC died, (motherboard and CPU) and it's to expensive to upgrade (Socket939), i like to make a combination of a home server and office PC in one, is this possible?
- With office PC, i mean, MS Office / Firefox+Thunderbird / the usual stuff.
Is it possible to run/install such programs on Windows Home Server and work with them the same time somebody else is streaming from it or backing up to it?
Also, i want to send media files to the PS3 and the Popcorn Hour A110, some things...

I am debating on Windows Home Server, Vista Home Premium, Windows 7.
I am building a another pc pretty much for a NAS and a tivo. I was thinking about getting WHS just to get used to servers and the remote access, but it only supports up to 3gigs. I was thinking about just getting Vista and sharing the 2 terabyte harddrives so I can get 4/8gigs of ram.
Also I was wondering what I would really need to run this.? I dunno what type of graphics card I would need to have a NICE 1080p display off my t...
