Do You Think About How Your Heroine Affects Readers?

Hey romanceladia, this got slightly personal for me lately, and I wondered if when crafting a heroine any of you give thought to how her 'quirks' 'body image' 'personal issues' might affect a reader?
(backstory, tee-hee, cuz we all love that. My daughter did a marketing project on how magazine adds impact young women, and it just got me thinking...)

I'm moving to Shanghai in a few months and can't take my books with me; this is pretty tragic considering I read like I breath. It helps me relax, I have more books than I'll ever be capable of reading in a lifetime, and I just generally enjoy the feeling of buying something I know I'll enjoy--should I ever get the time to sit down and read it.

After Valo and I bought our forth floor to ceiling bookshelf, I decided to look in to E-readers. Many of my friends had already switched over and, with all the travel we do and number of books I read every week, I thought it would be a great idea to have an e-reader.
I decided on a Kindle because of the wireless download and other features like the browser, save for later, clipping, etc.

Hello everyone.
I have just read that Amazon is lauching a big-screen version of its Kindle ( Kindle DX ). They are saying it is a version which is better for reading newspapers and books with a built-in PDF reader.
Do you think it will be a good buy? Like we can bring all of the electronic books we have (whether the kindle version of textbooks bought from Amazon or ebooks in pdf format) and not have to deal with the often heavy and bulky textbooks.
Anyone already using kindle for wards? How is...

Hi, I'm a newbie looking to jump into the e-reader pool. I've written about my research and shared my "wish-list" here . I've also written a post similar to this in the Cybook G3 forums and the Sony PRS-505 forums .

Carrying my Reader on public transport without my man bag

Hi have an issue I am trying to address. For ages I have used a Man Bag (just an over the shoulder messenger bag) to carry all of my gadgets and stuff for my daily commute on the train (the local Metro train service). I am on the train for about 45 minutes each way, and also have a bus and a little bit of walking to do (about 15 minutes of walking).
Now that it is the summer, I hate carrying my bag cos its awkard and I prefer not to have to worry about it.

Let's think about golfers for a minute. Let's then consider all of the golfers who play on Saturday, Sunday and hit practice balls during the week. Then let's consider the few who read and post comments on an internet forum for golfers.
Okay...no let's ask ourselves how many of those internet golf forum readers/posters would improve their handicap if they were to play with the same clubs as Tiger.

Hi all,
Please comment on your likes/dislikes using the Touch as an ebook reader.
I am thinking about purchasing the Kindle2 but the cost as a stand alone reader is steep. I own an ipod nano 4g and love it and am hoping that buying and using a Touch as a reader would be a great way to get all the features of my nano plus the ability to use it as an ebook saving a boat load of dough.
Are you using it this way and how do you like it?
