Thinking about my future/career/school. (Long read)

I'm 21 years old, 22 at the end of the year. I graduated high school in 2005 and I still live with my parents, go to a local community college, and have exactly half of my transfer classes I need to transfer to a UC or Cal State or something.. or somewhere else..? I just feel lost. I first wanted to do Pharmacy, but it's way too much work for me especially because I absolutely hate chemistry/biology. I just can't see myself doing that for the rest of my life, yeah the money's good but I won't be...

US English vs. British English

What do Canadians here think about our split usage of US and British English (which we call "Canadian English")? Personally, I'd prefer we just move to using US English exclusively.
For two main reasons:
1) Our culture is heavily influenced by American culture. I know of a vast majority of Canadians that use exclusive US English, probably subconsciously, as a result of media influence.
2) With French being an official Canadian language, it would a lot easier to distinguish a word like " colour "...

Help! American for English or PPE?
I'm applying to Oxford next year, but I can't decide between English or PPE!
I feel like I would have a better chance of getting in for PPE (all of my extracurriculars and AP exams pertain to politics and economics, and my experience on the debate team would be a good primer for the interview), but when I actually think about studying the subject for 3 years, I get a knot in my stomach. Thinking about going abroad

I am English and living in the U.K. What with the recession and a few other things, my life seems to have come to a complete stop. Relationship wise, Family wise, Workwise, friendwise, everything seems to have stopped .
I have my life ahead of my with no ties . I am considering leaving the U.K. and travelling around the World with the view to not coming back to the U.K. I just feel a bit apprehensive about going .

Why study English at uni?

Re: Why study English at uni? I'm choosing to do it because I love it. I originally applied to Medicine based on the "I should do a vocational degree" thing, but then I realised that that isn't the reason to do something.
I have no idea what I'll do when I graduate. I expect to have to do something postgrad to make it more relevant but I'm happy to not think about it.
