I'm co-writing a suspense/romance/crime/mystery novel with a friend. I figured it spans so many genres, I'd just post this here. We are about to start our first full rewrite. After having started with a 120,000 word draft that was not outlined and messy, and two semi-drafts after that (false starts), we're carefully outlining this time to make sure everything is cohesive.

If by mentioning your period - you mean wetness down below - Its likely due to increased mucus production to solidly form the mucus plug.
The cramping feeling could be related to the round ligament stretching. Most women have the most pain with that with their first pregnancy but there isnt any reason to think you wouldn't feel it in subsequent pregnancies (just not as painful).
In general - I have felt pretty crappy this trimester. I'm amost more tired and run down this trimester than the 1st....
