Curry says hed take less money as Lions No. 1 pick
Posted: Draft , News | Pat Kirwan | Tags: 2009 NFL Draft , Aaron Curry , Detroit Lions
On my Sirius radio show Tuesday, Wake Forest LB Aaron Curry told me he would do a pre-draft deal with the Lions for less than the $57.5 million ($30 million guaranteed) that Jake Long received from the Dolphins as the No. 1 overall draft pick last year.
All right, Detroit, you want a pre-draft deal ? You got one!
Curry told me he could visualize himself lini...

Lions sign Foote

That was a close one. I didn't really want this guy on the Colts after thinking about it. I think that he is a little overrated, and the fact that he only got a 1 year deal from the Lions tells me something.

The last nail in the coffin for lions tours?
(27 Jun 2009)
With defeat today, it means the supposed best of the home nations have failed to win down south since 97. i think there needs to be a hard look at future tours. the best players and teams are not being picked and coaches are picking favourites rather than the best (Shaw being picked for the tour let alone test is awful). I think in this day and age of professionalism it is unneeded
any opinions?

How well did the Lions draft, now that there has been time to evaluate it?
Now that there has been time to really think about the Lions draft what do you think? I disagreed with some of the picks but I don't feel like there major reaches by the new regime. I hope Stafford beats out Culpepper based on how much many money we're paying him. I have a feeling that if Culpepper wins the job he will end up hurt at some point during the season. I was hoping to fill the MLB position with Curry, or that...

White Lions Cavalry army
(30 May 2009)
Today I achieved something terrifying. I painted the very last Skeleton warrior in my Vampire Counts army.
I have painted my first ever complete WHFB force. So obviously I need a new one... right?
I have decided to collect and paint (and convert) a high elves army.
But not just any old High Elves army, oh no, I'm going to collect a White Lions themed army. I'm going to buy me some lions (from the chariot) and make my Dragon princes out of them mixed with silver helms.
I'm also going to think abo...

Please grade the Lions draft...
(26 Apr 2009)
I personally think we had a horrible draft. Probably worse than year's past. Especially the TE pick at #20 and S at #33 killed me. Fans in the Lions forum seem to think we had a good draft and thought Pettigrew was a steal... I'm sick of hearing subjective opinions. I want some objective ones. When I consider who the Lions could've had with their first 5 picks I shudder:
1. Jason Smith / Aaron Curry
2. Peria Jerry/ Michael Oher
3. Rey Maualuga / James Laurinitis
4. Michael Johnson / Jarron Gilbe...

Overhauled Lions give reason for some optimism
http://blog.mlive.com/highlightreel/..._reason_f.html
It's easy to get nervous when NFL draft experts praise the Detroit Lions' selections. After all, many in the national media praised former general manager Matt Millen after many a draft weekend, only to watch players fail to make the roster four short months later.
Still, after hearing and reading a season's worth scratch that a lifetime's worth of jabs and taunts last season, it's refreshi...
