Think about shaving the dome - advice?

I'm thinking I'll shave my head sometime this March. When depends on the weather forecast come early March, Colorado has had a mild winter so far, but that's no guarantee of what will happen in the future. I guess I don't want to have my first day with a shaved head to be a blizzard.
I'm curious about two things:
1) I have a rather oily head (it stains my pillowcases). Should I take any extra actions over this? Just use alum and an A/S splash instead of balm like on my face?
2) I'm a truely pale...

Thinking about my first shave with my toggle...

I aquired a toggle a couplke of weeks ago, but have been too busy to shave with it. I have been working seven days a week, and want to be able to take my time with it, and enjoy myself. I'm thinking this saturday, if I have it off.
I was thinking that i would go with, a feather, and some Penhaligons, English Fern, and Pitralion for an after shave.
This razor is soo nice that i almost want to buy another one just to shave with.

Thinking about shaving off my gottee...

I have worn a Gottee for about fifteen years now. I shave it off every couple of years for about a week or so, and regret it every time. Either Im just not used to how I look without it, or I actually do look better with it.
I keep my gottee trimmed at all times. I usually trim it two to three times per week to keep it clean looking.
If i shave it should i just attack it with an open comb gillette new? or should i trim it down even shorter then shave it?

Hey all! This is a very interesting community - I found it because the past month or so I have been thinking about shaving my head completely bald...mainly due to the fact that baldness is in my family and there is no stopping it.

To Shave or not to Shave your Golden -

We live in Texas and it is HOT! I have shaved previous golden retrievers and they seem to love it. I have an 18 month old who has the most gorgeous coat but is shedding it all off in my house! It is 98 degrees here and I am wondering if I should cut him down short. I spoke with a groomer who said she tries to talk owners of under/double coated dogs to not shave their dogs as their coats actually insulate them and keep them cool and obviously protect their skin from the sun.

Shaving Stick Convert - looking for opinions

I recently bought a Wilkinson shaving stick (about 2 weeks ago) and I keep coming back to it. I like the old style scent - reminds me the sixties and seventies when I was a little kid.
I like the tallowy rich lather it produces. After reading reviews and older threads, I ordered a Palmolive Classic shave stick and a La Toja shave stick.
I'm considering a Valobra and maybe an Irisch Moos stick too.
It looks like Erasmic and Arko have mixed reviews. Are there any I'm missing?

I saw a topic a few days ago about wether shaving is good or not. Some said that it was, because you looked better and because of hygene, while others said that it wasn't because if nature made you that way you shouldn't change it.

Shaving Legs...

I really am wandering why I am typing this now but wth.
Yesterday a thought just popped into my head that because it was hot outside shaving my legs would cool me down slightly (I know stupid idea), so out came the razor and I just shaved it all off... on one leg -.- My razor kinda f*cked up before I finished my first leg (so I had one leg unshaved all day ). So I thought it was ok until I found out trying to dry your legs with no hair on them is VERY hard So today I shaved the other leg and now...
