"Paste and Search"
(07 Jun 2009)
"Paste and Search" Opera has the "Paste and Go" feature, which is helpful, but I think a Paste and Search feature would be even more useful. Just think about how often you are searching something you copied in to Google, Yahoo, Wikipedia or a dictionary website, but you must still press "Enter" on the keyboard.

(HOT HOT HOT) When thermal paste attacks
(05 Jun 2009)
Ok, so I bought a rev B back in Nov 2008 and it had been acting weird since purchasing it.
Within 3 days I had it in for repair due to the heat issues and odd behavior and it came
back a few days later with a note saying all was well and there was no issues and its
temperatures were within spec.
Anyway, like a schmuck I lived with it until the dodgy keyboard broke and again asked
them to check the heat as the fans were constantly on and erratic behavior.
So last week I got the laptop back again...

Applying thermal paste
(01 May 2009)
Hi
I am going to soon upgrade my CPU, and thought I would get your thoughts and opinions on how to apply the thermal paste to the CPU and heatsink.
The two ways that I know of are the "rice method" - apply a small rice sized amount of paste onto the centre of the CPU. The other method "Bussiness card" is when you spread the paste evenly over the CPU, and get it down to a very thin film like layer on the top.
Could anyone please suggest to me the best way
I have enclosed the poll (i think)
Thanks...

Thermal Paste Application
(16 May 2009)
Hello
I ordered a XIGMATEK HDT-RS1283 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835233012
This heatsink has the transfer tubes exposed instead of behind a plate.
I have Arctic Silver 5 Paste and I wanted to get opinions on what is the
best way to apply the paste in this type of application.
I know there are some forum members here using similar systems. So if you could
share your method in this and also comment on your temperature results, that would be great.
Thanks.

Breathing Difficulty After Using Solder Paste
(30 May 2009)
I've been doing a fair bit of soldering LEDs to aluminium PCBs lately. I'm doing it a fairly "dodgy" way, using an electric frying pan to heat the PCBs, melt the solder paste and the job's done.
I have an electric fan set up to blow the fumes away, but I've been having random bouts of feeling like I'm not breathing as easily as normal.
At first I thought it may have been because of my lack of fitness, but when I thought about it I realised I've been doing more for my fitness over the last few we...

GTX 260 Re-paste with Confusing Results
(04 May 2009)
I finally updated the video card shown in sig to a GTX 260 Core 216 (temp upgrade as I'm waiting on the HD 5000 series). Of course I couldn't leave well enough alone and decided to take the card apart and apply new paste (Arctic Cooling MX2) to it. In what has to be one of the greatest displays of irony the idle/load temps went up instead of down. This flies in the face of countless re-pasting I've done in the past 10 years.
Initially the results looked great:

Case Ambient (Not...

Worth it to change thermal paste GTX 285?
(01 Jul 2009)
I'm thinking about changing the thermal paste on my GTX 285's Will it be worth it? Will I see a drop temperature? Not having any problems but with it being pretty hot now the idle temp is up a bit from 38c to 41-43c

copy-paste CSS problem
(28 Jun 2009)
Hi guys!
I was thinking about paginating and printing a MySQL database, so I thought about using PHP. I made a raw layout with PHP/CSS and I wanted to refine it with OpenOffice (adding columns, page breaks, etc...).
When I copy-paste the PHP/CSS page on Write, it doesn't keep the layout (background colours, text colours, text size...everything defined on the CSS sheet), while if I use HTML tags all is fine.
Does anybody know why?? Moreover, how can I copy-paste using the CSS without problems?
Th...
