The idea of a 'throw-away' is something I've been thinking about for a while now. Not so many years ago, comics were considered a throw-away; you'd read 'em once, then toss 'em out. Same thing with television and movies; sometimes a popular show would re-run or a hit movie would be shown on network TV (Star Trek, Wizard of Oz, or Gone With Wind). Aside from collectors, these things were disposable; only read/viewed once or twice (at most) and then mostly forgotten.
