1. What do we think about Cedric Benson? (lengthy orig post fixed)   (21 May 2009)
Quote: I mean he looked really good last year. The staff seemed to believe in his "resurrection" by not drafting a RB save some headcase in the 7th round out of Abilene Christian"? They drafted nothing but help for Benson by spending their early picks on OL/C/TE, and improving their defense (which usually only helps running backs, especially the rb1's). Yet he is Ranked 31 in redraft and 42 dynasty? He's still relatively young, and if his head is right immensely talented? Am I missing something?...

3. What are some good pet peeves to try?   (16 Jun 2009)
My top 2: 1.) Shitty drivers. Oh...my...god. Driving a car is not that fucking difficult. Yet a half an hour trip around town could lead one to believe that 50% of our population is mentally retarded. Whether it's people driving like 25mph in a 45 or 50 zone, turning left out of the 2nd or 3rd lane ( not a turning lane), waiting for a light to turn to green before turning right (not sure about other states, but in California, you can turn right on reds after you come to a stop), or any number of...

4. Children's books you love   (21 May 2009)
Books, so I guess this goes here...? If not, then sorry. D: I was thinking of this because I've found myself obsessing recently over this book of poetry I used to read a lot when I was a kid. I found out my parents gave it to charity, and I just want to read it again so badly. Look at the pictures, mostly. It's not that it would transport me back to a certain point in my childhood, although that might be a side effect, it's that it would bring me back to the world inside that specific book. I kn...

5. Is this going to be my fate?   (07 May 2009)
Okay, so I have had a dream I have not brought to light for a very long time. In the dream, I learn my family members' supposed fates. According to this dream, my mother will be diagnosed with skin cancer, but she'll heal. A year after that, she will be killed in a car crash. My dad will eventually die of a heart attack. My step mother will die of cancer. My brother will never return from a mountain climbing trip. It has been a few years since I had the dream, but NOW it is getting to me. I cann...

6. (untitled)   (22 Apr 2009)
Hi folks, sorry for the very long post, but I really need valuable opinions here since I'm likely to make a decision/submit bids within the next month or two. This may be most pertinent to the forumites local to the Bay, but anyone, please feel free to weigh in. I started looking for condos a few weeks ago and found some promising units and need some help weighing my top two choices. For both of these places, I'll be able to come up with 20% down. 1. The first unit I found desirable was a 3rd st...

7. Vaccines and Autism   (06 May 2009)
So, I was having a conversation with my Mom and she mentioned seeing Jenny McCarthy on Oprah campaigning against vaccines. I had to stop her short right there because my Mom was buying her crap and I had to inform her about how Miss McCarthy didn't understand basic science. I have a cousin who had a genuine, documented reaction to the MMR vaccine, and she ended up losing her vision. This is a KNOWN side effect of MMR in very rare cases. YET, I would still encourage the use of MMR, because not ta...

8. 2009 team by team fantasy analysis - New York Giants added   (04 Jun 2009)
I'm sitting here thinking what can I add to the cafe this year in terms of fantasy analysis. There's going to be mocks, rankings, projections, people picking sleepers. I want to get people thinking about WHY or WHY NOT they might want someone. HOW can we identify opportunity. Let's recognize that we'll always miss guys like Matt Ryan or McClain or guys that ascend to the top of the depth chart through injury, history and lack of psychic ability just preclude that from happening. What I'd like to...

9. Memphis Prospects, unbelievable amount of BIGTIME talent   (03 Jul 2009)
Rivals Class of 2010 Joe Jackson 5'11 #17 5 star Tarik Black 6'7 #46 4 star Mardracus Wade 6'2 #101 4 star Terrence Durham 6'2 #108 4 star Todd Mayo 6'3 solid mid major prospect Tim Peete 6'4 mid to high major Ronald Brown 6'4 beast a bit undersized but I think could play high major Chris Crawford 6'3 top 100 talent in my opinion I believe all 4 could move up after the July evaluation period ends. Black could be on the verge of being a borderline 5 star. Rivals Class of 2011 Adonis Thomas 6'6 #1...

10. Haye Is Key To A Tv Deal   (29 Jun 2009)
Haye is key to a TV deal’ by Nick Peet, Liverpool Echo JOHN WATSON admits the demise of Setanta Sports has rocked him and the rest of the Hayemaker Camp, but he’s confident they can bounce up off the canvas before too long. The unbeaten lightweight and leading British title contender is one of half a dozen city pro’s signed to David Haye’s promotional outfit, which was one of three major promoters signed with the Irish broadcasters. But after Setanta went into administration this week those deal...
