Conflicted Opinions and Predictions
(06 Jun 2009)
Here are some predictions posted on these boards over the last 4 days:
1. Market will fluctuate between flat and 10% below current level.
2. Market will go up 10% or more.
3. Market will "yo-yo" for 18 months; no urgency to buy.
4. Market will drop 5% towards the end of 2009.
5. Market will not "go negative" in 2009 (won't drop >5% from here).
Crazy, hey?
We don't seem to be able to agree on anything!

Rattling the Cage: The fierce urgency of a settlement freeze
(26 Jun 2009)
http://www.jpost.com/servlet/Satellite?cid=124518492031...
Most Israelis, I think, are not ready to accept the idea that the occupation will go on forever. They don't like the radical settler movement and its power. They know, even if they bury the knowledge, that lots of IDF soldiers have been doing terrible things to innocent Palestinians all these years. They know that our rule over the West Bank - as well as our remote control over Gaza - will always be a provocation to the Arabs and never b...

Food Intolerance Elimination Diet
(06 Jun 2009)
Does anyone know of any good food intolerance elimination diet books or programs. I've tried a few myself, but not finding the exact causes. Gluten Free, Dairy Free...but seems there is something else causing mild irritations (Stomach pain, gurgling at times, some urgency sensations, loose stool...). Recently excluded Corn and Soy....not thinking about Fructose, etc....but wanted to do the test correctly.
Thanks...

Here goes! Interstim Installed!
(12 Jun 2009)
Folks,
I don't know how this will work out in the end, I am just getting on with using the new Medtronic Interstim nerve stimulation device. I had the temporary one installed yesterday. Stop reading now if you are faint of heart about details!
With major flair ups in March and in April, I saw my urologist in late April - time for my semi-annual prostate cancer follow-up anyway. I was in great pain and my TBU (time between urinations) was running 15 to 25 minutes with much urgency, and some minor...

Most important attribute of your next car?
(26 May 2009)
- the one to replace your ZS/45/400?
I've been thinking about this as I choose "not to take the MG" to anywhere that involves manoeuvring the car.
Like me, you may be hoping to run your car for many years yet so there may be no urgency to the question and it may not be clear what alternatives will be available, e.g. will there be an MG available?
However:
When I chose my MkI ZS the second choice was a Subaru Impreza WRX.
When I chose my MkII ZS the second choice was a Ford Fusion, so size/practi...

Why is the concept of Eternal Life a positive one?
(28 Jun 2009)
I see this is probably the single most common claim that all religions have - sign up today and get eternal life! And many people seem to fall for it. But, on what level is eternal life a positive thing?
If anything, the concept is worse than a final, definite death. Just think for a second after the first thousand years of being dead, doing nothing with any great urgency, you have the rest of eternity left. Then after the thousand after that and the thousand after that and the thousand after th...
