1. Thinking about scrapping my idea of writing a custom membership and roles...   (20 Apr 2009)
I've got a web app I'm building in ASP.NET that has the following security requirements: Must be able to integrate with a master authentication scheme that passes back a unique key to the application to indicate a user has logged in via a third-party site. Must be able to use existing user/roles tables. May use forms authentication and allow users to log in via a separate login page if they aren't members of the third-party site. I've tried customizing the SQL Role and Membership Providers, but...

2. NSBR Board - "Thinking about replacing air conditioning unit...is it worth...   (13 Jun 2009)
We live in a 3200 square foot 2 level home. We have 3 units. For the past several years, we've used a window unit to help cool down the larger bedroom while allowing the AC unit to cool the other 2 bedrooms. I'm so tired of the noise of the window unit and the inconvenience of getting DH to install and remove it each season. Plus it can't be that energy effecient. The AC unit is still functioning fine(it is about 9 years old) so I'm having a really hard time deciding to spend so much money. Toda...

3. thinking about going back to the original yellow   (02 May 2009)
i don't think i'll have time or money before i get out of school to do a complete color change on the Z, so i'm allowing the yellow to grow on me and thinking about leaving the jams the original color and returning the outside to the same. i'm not sure how many shades there were of the yellow on the Z, but if it's the metalic one that was on my car originally, it won't be that. i'm thinking the color of jverz car. opinions? how bad is yellow on this car? gay? decent? i'm sure it's just personal...

4. Something to think about   (27 May 2009)
Hello, Recently me any my friend, have moved to ubuntu, and are constantly discussing the benefits over windows. (yes, we're obsessed ) But i had a though the other day when a windows advert came on. The tagline was "Im seven years old and im a pc" That made me think, your a PC? Personal Computer? This advert, in my opinion, is claiming that EVERY Personal Computer, runs windows. Now i think that's completely outrageous that microsoft should be allowed to claim that all Pc's are windows, because...

5. What do you think about the PC movement?   (11 Jun 2009)
I need to discuss something, and I was hoping to ask the opinions of those older and wiser than myself. Today in a discussion, I expressed my dislike the Political Correctness Movement in America today. I pointed out that I didn't think trying to legislate respect, tolerance, and understand between different cultures ever worked, as it only seems to breed resentment. I don't think people like to be told what they can and cannot think, which is what the PC movement seems to boil down to. Had I kn...

The only thing left to ponder over now is RUBBER! 7. Here's my .2 cents. Think about it, Management   (28 Apr 2009)
I have watched from a distance the ongoing battle to *regain" Truck.Net. I have kept quiet, with minor exception and I figure now is as good a time as any to hit the fan with it. Let me think back a few years to when I lurked here. There were many, many posters...yeah, sure..the Wild West..I saw the other thread. But the truth is, it was a forum where we could come and discuss trucking stuff, gripe about trips, loads, roads, trucks and stoopit stuff. With a lot of humor thrown in. Zigzag, as big...

8. Something to think about...   (25 Apr 2009)
Now, not tomorrow or next week, we shall discuss the forbidden topic on message boards, religion. This issue is quite touchy for many people, so I’d like to ask anyone in the topic to be open to criticism and other ideas different from your own. Is religion necessary? A lot of people choose to follow one religion or another, and as we all know the differences of religion can lead to conflict. Story after story exists of one man harming another because he fears what he does not know. All wars can...

9. Thinking about a Gixxer   (29 May 2009)
Whether I need help deciding between a 600 or a 750, or I need help of the psychological variety, I'm not sure yet. That's why I'm posting. Lately, I've become more and more interested in getting a street bike. I've posted on a few forums, and a lot of people have given me a lot of opinions. I've gotten everything from a Honda Nighthawk 750 to a Hayabusa. I think it has a lot to do with the fact that I'm somewhat in between as a rider. I've been riding dirt bikes for about 4 years, and I've ridd...

10. 'Do not resuscitate' vs. 'allow natural death' - Could three words change...   (14 Apr 2009)
It sounds a little more agreeable, but I foresee a debate over what would constitute "natural" death for those who have to make the crucial decision. For example, would dying from injuries sustained in a car accident qualify as "natural"?
