Now that we've brought Barry in (which is a fantastic buy imo), and taking into consideration the fact Hughes (and the majority of fans) would presumably have Ireland and De Jong in the first 11 for next season, you would think this is an obvious push for a 4-3-3 looking something along the lines of this:

Aston Villa midfielder Gareth Barry is in talks with Manchester City about a move to Eastlands.
Barry, 28, was linked with Liverpool in the summer of 2008 but the Reds could not meet Villa's £18m asking price.
The England international has been offered a new deal to remain at Villa Park beyond the end of next season - when his current contract expires.
Villa reached the Europa League by ending the 2008-09 Premier League season in sixth, four spots above City.

I started thinking about this when Barry came back in Final Crisis. When he and Wally go to the future they break Iris from the ALE by giving her a big kiss, the point being she was an older lady and Barry seems to be back in his prime.
My question is, how long has Barry been gone from the DCU "in universe years".
Technically he left before cell phones, high speed internet and Tim Drake.
What's the popular opinion on the timeline between Crisis' and will Barry like being married to an old lady?

Moving to - Going to Barry

Hi all.
We will be moving down to Miami area in the next few months.
Husband will be Going to Barry University on a full scholarship.
We have two kids and a low income but am having trouble because I don't know where to look for a place to live.
I am trying to find employment down there but no luck yet.

here is a background for all the people who don't know about the show.
basically it is just like another footy show which deals with the issues which happened in the round.
coincidently barry hall happened to be the guest.
mainly they get the opinions of the guest as well as a mixture of an interveiw.

According to atk (a very reliable source) on TLW, he is saying that a deal for Gareth Barry has been agreed. It is said later on the first page that he is told it is a 9m+addons deal.
