Master your Metabolism General Diet Plans and Questions

I couldn't find any threads on this topic...so I thought I would start one!!!
I just started reading Jillian's book, Master Your Metabolism. Wondering if anyone else has read it and is following her advice.
My thoughts so far:
At first I thought the book was for people who needed to lose alot of weight and thought I had wasted my money. Then once I got to the hormone part and how screwed up they can get, I thought, this is too scientific for me. More reading and I thought, Oh crap, this is going...

i'm having really great AS these days, between my yoghurt/CO/almond nose-clipped SLD dose and the incredible summer heat here in india. in fact, there have been several days lately where i've hardly eaten, or eaten just two or three small snacks.
but strangely, for about the first week of extremely high AS, my weight seemed not to be shifting. at ALL. then i decided i had to make myself eat more for a day -- and whoosh! within 24 hours of eating substantially MORE, i dropped 5 pounds.

I was reading an article bout calorie spiking, eating more calories one day and then switching to less calories the next as a way to "trick" your metabolism.
Has anyone tried this, and if so does it work?
