1. Thinking about scrapping my idea of writing a custom membership and roles...   (20 Apr 2009)
I've got a web app I'm building in ASP.NET that has the following security requirements: Must be able to integrate with a master authentication scheme that passes back a unique key to the application to indicate a user has logged in via a third-party site. Must be able to use existing user/roles tables. May use forms authentication and allow users to log in via a separate login page if they aren't members of the third-party site. I've tried customizing the SQL Role and Membership Providers, but...

2. Opinions on my Form class   (28 May 2009)
Hi, I hope it is ok to ask for opinions. But this is a good way of learning for me. Anyway, what do you people think about my class to handle form data. Flexible enough? readable? ect... PHP Code: <?php /* Notepad ++ : tabspace = 4, Replace tab with spaces, ANSI UTF-8 encoding, UNIX LF */ /** * Class to handle data send by Forms * * PHP V5 * * LICENSE: www.opensource.org/licenses/gpl-3.0.html * * @Packagename * @Author:  Kurt Van Genechten * @Version: V2.0 @ 26th May 2009 * @Copywrite: 2009,...

3. I'm thinking about suicide   (21 May 2009)
For starters, if you just clicked on to this topic thinking "another loser with emotional problems, this 'd be fun", let me show you how wrong your assumption is. You see, I'm a normal bloke, studying average stuff, doing actually nothing and probably will do nothing extraordinary in life, something that will make my life more enthusiastic. This is me having lived 18 years of life and expecting not much more other than a mediocre job that pays off a bit, a house, woman and kids and leading a hap...

4. Copy'n'Paste Text from Webpages to Forms?   (20 Jun 2009)
Copy'n'Paste Text from Webpages to Forms? Hi. I tend to use long and complex passwords for webpages. In order for this to be manageable, I use KeePassX on my PC (it's a port of KeePass to Linux ). It doesn't seem like Opera for the DSi supports some sort of password manager, does it? And certainly not something, which can be "filled" from outside of the DSi/Opera. So I'm thinking about putting some of my passwords on a properly secured webpage and would then like to use that page for getting my...

5. Naruto is going to control his tailed forms with SM   (22 Apr 2009)
For most of the naruto series naruto has had trouble controlling the Kyuubi's chakra. The more he used the chakra the more the fox used him as seen here http://read.mangashare.com/Naruto/ch...3/page005.html . But recent events lead me to think this is about to change. The after effects of Tailed forms As we all know the tailed forms grant naruto awesome power that even a fully matured sharingan has problems with. http://read.mangashare.com/Naruto/ch...1/page004.html http://read.mangashare.com/Na...

6. Ext's forms   (21 May 2009)
I've posted in the past how I'm working on a Ext port of a large project with hundreds of forms and that Ext's form management leaves a lot to be desired. I offer in this thread some of my experiences and some concepts that may be of real value to people using Ext. First concept: Use Ext's ingenius object model Ext is a UI and widget toolkit (to me at least)... The widgets like grids and toolbars use HTML markup to generate what the user needs to see in the browser. With forms, Ext goes beyond t...

7. HTML Forms - tables or CSS?   (21 Apr 2009)
When creating a data entry form for a website, would you continue using CSS for layout or would you use a table? There are some that say it should be a table because a form is tabular data, but of an interactive nature. There are others who say that it should be created like all other pages with CSS for layout. Let's hear your opinions and remember, you're still wrong about what you thought.

8. [RESOLVED] General Chitt Chat - MDI Forms   (23 Apr 2009)
Hi all, I've been out of programming circles for nearly a year now (I had a baby). I'm starting off a new application and thinking about the type of GUI to design. I've always favoured a Main Menu (using an MDIForm) when application is launched and using Child MDIForms for my various modules. I'm just wondering what is the general opion on the use of MDIForms? Thanks, Mel.

10. Modern Mythologies as God Forms   (11 May 2009)
I've gotten positive results from utilizing aspects of modern and pop culture mythology to replace what some might consider to be antiquated deities. For example, say at a Summer Solstice. People may want to use a sun god such as Apollo or Luh. Throwing  established ideas out the door, I used Superman instead. Yes, I know it sounds odd. However, in the public's mind, Superman has taken a sort of mythical status. In addition, I know exactly what Superman looks like where Apollo is open to interpr...
