As the date of my move to C-bus comes closer I am still trying to work out what area to live in.
A lot of my co-workers who have lived in Columbus for ever keep pointing me towards Grandview, Clintonville etc. Whenever I asked them about the Victorian, Italian and German Villages areas, I keep getting the same answer that thay are all surrounded by 'SHADY' areas. They do not go into details of what they mean by 'shady' and I have to say that they may not be used to living in urban areas an...

Grade opinion please for Victorian quarter....

recently purchased 1883-H Canadian Victorian quarter.
I'd appreciate any grade opinions,
the lighter 'lined' area in front of the Queen's face in the fields and the one or two bright lines behind her head (in the fields) and on her neck are defintely NOT marks or imperfections on the coin's surface, rather they are the result of uneven toning.

Which is darkest - Victorian Romantic or Bohemian Gothic?

I've read lots of threads about both of these decks and love hearing others opinions about them both.
I've read on a few occasions now that some users find using the Victorian Romantic darker or more disturbing than the Bohemian Gothic.
Personally I think the BG is darker than the VR I'd love to hear everyone elses opinions and reasons! Any particular cards? Or just the overall feeling of the deck?

horse walkers - your opinions pls

obviously i have known about the existence of horse walkers for yrs but have never been on a yard posh enough to have one but arizona's posh re-schooling yard does have one - i was watching a couple of horses in it the other day & am unsure of how i feel about them - on one hand i can see it is a useful fitness/exercise tool but a part of me was reminded of victorian prison treadmills - your opinions?

So, they had the xx-his on sale at Journeys, so I had to buy another pair(you can see my other pair in the shoe category on Best of Craftster '08). I think they are addictive.
So I wanted to do something totally different and more victorian/steampunkie/tattered. So here is what I have come up with so far. Please be honest if you think it looks stupid. I will be using old photos, lace, beads and fabric on the body of the shoes(they'll be really busy, I know, but I want to do something a litt...

Heard a rumour today that the Club is looking at changing the lion emblem from the one that is currently being used on the jumpers. Wondering what others think about it.
Also it was great to see the 'Victorian' jumper worn on the weekend in Tassie.

Melb juniors & the Origin Dream

Now that Victorian teen RL players can stay in Melbourne and step up through the Storm's junior grades, then the Storm NYC and all the way up to the NRL Storm, does anyone know how the Victorian boys view the State of Origin ideal? Do they aspire to play Origin one day? Is that why they play RL in the first place? Or do they accept that it is just between NSW and QLD players? And what do Storm fans think about this.

I've got a debate in about 2 weeks time, and the topic is "Should the Victorian Government buy back the public transport system?".
Unfortunately for me, I am Negative!! I really wanted to be affirmative...
Anyway, I've got some questions related to this argument.
1. Whose job is the maientenance, purchase and choice of the actual rollingstock? Government or Connex?
2. Whose job is the maientenance of track?
3. The actual train vehicles are owned by...?
4. The contract. What are the key points?
