What do you think about aquarium size?

Looking to make an aquarium over the summer with a friend, and for the species we want, it was reccomended to have one between a 200 and 400 gallon. a 3'x3'x3' is 201 gallons, but if we have a 2' long fish, that's just not right for the fish, is it? So what do you think would be better? I was thinking 2' tall with a 4'x5' base? Any reccomendations?

Hello, just wanted to share our newly setup 110 gallon aquarium. We have setup planted aquariums in the past, but it did not turn out exactly how we wanted it to. So in order to learn how to properly setup a planted aquarium, we had it professionally done. Please let us know what you think about it.

I live in the Boston area and have been to the aquarium many times (free with library pass). I have extended family coming which will include 3 little boys ages 2-3. One of my BIL is asking if we can go to the aquarium...
Can anyone share their thoughts/experiences at the aquarium with me???
I have 2 girls and have been with them but I would like some other opinions!

Hello Gang,
Has anyone here made a glass aquarium that worked well and was safe? Does anyone here have any opinion on the matter? I had some glass cut last summer for baffles in the refugium I put together. It worked out really well and I was thinking about making a rimless aquarium as the glass was pretty inexpensive. Nothing too big, a shallow 20in. X 30in. maybe. I know it's not the same as placing a couple baffles, just a thought. I attached some picks of the refugium I made out of a 20 gall...

Glass Thickness vs. Width in Big Aquariums I'll start of with asking if anyone has seen the 50,000 gallon freshwater tank on "monsterfishkeepers.com" (I think it was built in Canada)...if so...what do you guys and gals think about the braces that he used to separate the individual panes of glass? His glass only had to be 1" thick / 3' wide to hold back water 5' high. It does kind've look "different" in my opinion, but I like it. The Aquarium Room - 2months old Wish I was taking pictures and posting them from day one but was just thinking about getting everything up and going. Is a humane aquarium industry financially viable? (warning: long post!)

I've been thinking a lot about this question, and it's really bothering me.
Many people on this forum have strong opinions about what's wrong with the aquarium industry. For example, there's too much misinformation being spread through pet stores regarding tank size requirements, species compatibility, and basic fish care. And many of us here try to do our part to reform the industry by speaking to employees when we see fish in poor conditions, or by boycotting stores that engage in practices we...
