Opinions please, staying in the relationship due to guilt?
(20 May 2009)
Sometimes I see posts that make my heart hurt. As in ladies staying with men that they admit have abused them, emotionally or physically. The worst ones are the ones where they are still attempting (in some cases succeeding) to do so.
Do you think there is a guilt factor involved with this in some cases? As in thinking the person has nobody else, or nobody else understands them? I've noticed it's similar to cases where the man isn't locked up, but the woman puts up with and makes excuses for his...

13 year old staying home alone during summer
(04 Jun 2009)
I wanted to get opinions about this. My DS who will be 13 at the end of August will be staying home alone with his younger sister (9 in Sept) during the summer while my DH and I work.
My DH gets home by 3 pm. Knowing my kids they will sleep-in until 11 am or so. Here are the rules I have set out for them:
1) NO ONE is allowed in the house
2) Can only play in the backyard (friends can come over but they are to stay in the backyard)
3) DS has a close friend 2 blocks away who has a pool. I have giv...

Staying Home Alone
(15 Jun 2009)
please note this is my opinion... I have a 15 year old and a 19 year old.. At 9 I would never leave my kids alone. Don't Quote: me, but I think 12 is the legal age to be alone (without parent or sitter) where I live. And if you think about that, that is around time the kids enter 7th grade.
If you are taking a walk around the block or something similar (like taking younger one to preschool) I would think that would be OK if you feel your child is mature enough. There are times when parents are f...

Thinking about going abroad
(17 May 2009)
I am English and living in the U.K. What with the recession and a few other things, my life seems to have come to a complete stop. Relationship wise, Family wise, Workwise, friendwise, everything seems to have stopped .
I have my life ahead of my with no ties . I am considering leaving the U.K. and travelling around the World with the view to not coming back to the U.K. I just feel a bit apprehensive about going .
I am quite comfortable living in the U.K. I have traveled before, but I may...

Having a hard time staying in school... FOR NOW
(05 May 2009)
Please note: I'm not posting this to be antagonized. I'm just looking for opinions, if there are any to offer. Maybe I'm just typing it to get it out in the open, too. It's a little bit of a read, I think.
I'm a completely capable student. Let me get that out of the way first. I'm by no means or measure having problems in school because of my grades. While I was an engineering student at UIUC, my GPA for the first two semesters was a solid 3.4, and then a 3.2 right before I withdrew for personal...

Ethersworn canonist and staying power
(28 May 2009)
Thinking about making a casual deck with this combo, just making sure,
Does having an Ethersworn Canonist and a staying power in play prevent players from playing non-artifact spells (once they have played one)?

Warning those staying Rodeway Inn
(21 Apr 2009)
I advise you all who are staying at the rodeway inn to think about it. I just got new from a friend who lives out there she usually lets me know the best places to stay and on a good budget..
Rodeway Inn is a BIG No -their starting renovations on the Hotel and from what i heard a HUGE insect problem .. Yeah I rather stay at a Days/Holiday inn or something instead.. just letting you guys know yeah it may be cheap but i rather spend 20 dollars extra for a bug free Noise free room.
