Thinking about gars...
(10 Apr 2009)
OK, so one of my lfs' has some Florida Gars that I've been watching for the last month or so. Every time I go in, I like them more and more.
My largest tank right now is a 125g (72x18x22). I don't want to get a gar if it can't live in this tank for at least a few years, as my expansion plans are slightly limited right now.
As of now, the only fish I plan on having in this tank are a pair of pbass (3.5" and 5.5" respectively), which I already have. The gar(s) that I'm looking at are about 7-8 inc...

opinions on a mini-computer with a screen smaller than 9 inches?
(15 Jun 2009)
My friend bought a little mini-computer over the weekend. He hasn't used it enough to give feedback, but the five minutes I spent with it... the thing seems pretty neat.
Any opinions/feedback/experience with these computers anyone?

50 inches + TV : LCD or Plasma for my situation ?
(27 Jun 2009)
I'm looking to replace my 32 inches Viewsonic TV with a large screen I will be hanging over my fireplace as I will be getting a new sectional couch and will reaarange my living room.
However I'd like opinions on which type of big screen technology would best fit my needs based on the following usage scenarios :
- I want a 50 inch or bigger TV at the focal point of the couch will be 125 inches from the wall
- The room is fairly bright with natural light but its not "christmas tree" bright either....

picture pixel size in relation to inches
(27 Apr 2009)
I was thinking about getting some pictures printed on gloss paper at Walmart or Kinkos or something. I have some digital pics and I am unsure of their size. I will be having 8" x 10" pictures made. One of my pics is 555 x 792 and I'm unsure of how big it is in relation to an 8" x 10" photograph. I'm sure that 555 x 792 is in relation to pixels. I can take the pics to my friend and use his photoshop to resize these pictures but I don't know how many pixels an 8" x 10" photo is. I'm a complete pic...

lowest gear inches for supported touring
(28 May 2009)
is 34" low enough gearing for SUPPORTED touring? assuming i am in decent shape, carrying no load on my bike, and biking across the country which will include some mountains...
this website suggests 30" for non loaded touring but my current set up has 34" as the lowest. also it is a little vague about the terrain.

Breeding at 30 inches??
(03 Jun 2009)
I know I have been told by many people that you can start breeding corns at 30 inches, I feel this is too small, what are your thoughts mine have all been around 36+ inches for the smallest ones I have bred yet. I was just wondering what other breeders think about this? I have some that are close to that length, and by next year should be 32 inches or so, maybe a bit bigger.

Thinking about putting a inch body lift on...
(29 Apr 2009)
I already have a 3.5 inch teraflex suspension lift, with 33 inch MFG Muds, wondering how it would look with added one inch body lift. The thing i am worried about is the 33s looking too small with 4.5 inches of total lift. Btw, not planning to upgrade to 35s anytime soon... Thanks!

Thinking About New PC - A Dilemma
(15 May 2009)
In a year or so I really should consider replacing this "old faithful" PC, but I'm caught in a dilemma. I'm pushed for space because the computer desk I have just fits nicely in the area designated for it and any PC newer than mine, that I would even consider giving house-room to, has a bigger case.
Any likelihood that Alienware or Dell are going to make their top-of-the-line products any smaller in the coming months? I see online that many reviewers have criticised them for this. The Dell XPS i...

Thinking about getting a frontosa
(25 May 2009)
I was thinking about getting a frontosa for a 75 gallon and wondered if it would be to big for the tank. Tank would house malawi and tanganyika 1 of each of the following- labidochromis hongi, labidochromis caeruleus, pseudotropheus demasoni, Neolamprologus leleupi, Neolamprologus occelatus, otopharynx lithobates, Copadichromis borleyi, Aulonocara sp. "albino ruby red", Altolamprologus compressiceps, julidochromis maleri, synodontis multipunctatus, synodontis petricola. All fish are young and ar...
