1. Opinionated opinions about a years worth of Cars.   (13 Apr 2009)
Hi Gang, Now that I have been in the business for a year and have handled a ton of cars I thought I would kick off a thread on the new releases. Sort of a year in review. All our Cars are run magnet out on a 70 ft, 6 lane, painted Scaley track with a variable power supply and a Trackmate lap Timer. We run at 12 volys most of the time. We chose to use Scaley track rather than routed becaus:e A) We needed the magnetism of steel rails. The Juniour Woodchunks need a LOT of practise before they will...

2. PlayStation 3: Two Years Later. Discuss.   (08 Apr 2009)
Intro) It kinda bothers me a little that one of my better threads gets lost within a bunch of other posts on a popular board. So, I thought that I'd repost this here in hope to continue the discussion. Besides, this was on of my discussion topics that I posted earlier. So, it counts, I think. Anyway, I thought it's be nice for us to comment on this article. It's PlayStation 3: Two Years Later by by Chris Roper at http://ps3.ign.com/articles/933/933464p1.html The article: Page 1) November 24, 200...

3. Past, Current, Future 5 Years   (30 Jun 2009)
Five years. What's five years? A look into the future? A chance to see how great something was? An opportunity to get a glimpse of what is really- never mind. In five years, things can change dramatically. Often times, five years is the point of which to look at something, and re-evaluate it. In five years, we can look back and see if Barack Obama really was ready to be President of the United States. In five years, we can see if George W. Bush really was as bad as most people think. In five yea...

4. Out of game 2 years, new soldier questions -   (19 Apr 2009)
So I used to play AO and am just getting back into it. I had a 220/21 doc who was pretty decked out. I remember some stuff, other stuff I dont. I quit before LE came out and decided to pick up the soldier I had instead. I've been playing for a few days to get a feel for things and think I've got enough of a grasp to ask some questions at this point. Soldier is now 170, btw. Soldier Nanos. The health buff line is the only line we have that uses BM and even I can see that everything except Total C...

I am looking only to do trail riding and nothing too extreme but just have fun. I'm 6'1 and 250lbs. 6. Opinions, please. Critism is highly welcomed.   (15 Jun 2009)
Luke Mathew Blair: Cute, funny, and charming; but who is he really? Weird murders are being committed and no one knows what or who the suspect even is.  Soon, secrets will be torn from their keepers and people wont be so safe anymore. What would you do to keep a secret? Especially if those secrets could change your life forever...     Hehe, what do you think?  I'll give you guys a little more to work with...       His dark, brown eyes were troubled. The man's elbows were on his knees and his fac...

7. Thunder Grippers (Needs Opinions) !!!   (06 May 2009)
Thunder Grippers The sound of thunder filled the dry, parched air. Dark clouds completely blotted out the sky. Bolts of lightning continuously streaked across the heavens, which provided the only illumination to the vast sea of sand below. This shadowed desert is the Saharan Thunder Plains. Centuries of desertification and climate change engulfed the continent of Africa in a desert that never saw the sky. In time, civilization learned to harness the limitless energies of the endless lightning st...

9. So, you're designing an MMORPG? Have you thought it through?   (05 Jul 2009)
[Posted this to another site, thought it might be of interest to others here] You probably, before announcing to the world that you are going to make an MMO, need to think about it. Here are some questions to help you, with an admitted heavy bias towards social virtual worlds and MMORPGs, as that's what I'm making. They're culled mostly from Bartle's "Designing Virtual Worlds", but also Raph Koster's "Theory of Fun", David Michael's "Indie Game Development Guide", along with Bartle's MUD-DEV-L a...

10. (untitled)   (17 Apr 2009)
Hi everyone. Long time reader, first time poster. I'm looking for a little career advice, preferably from other art directors, but anyone is more than welcome to reply. I feel stuck. I've been in the industry for about 10 years now. And, like many people who have been around that long, I come from a traditional background. I started out doing collateral materials liked direct mail and brochures for a few years before finally breaking in to an advertising agency. I've spent the last several years...
