1. Less than 300 died from Swine flu, world wide. In Iraq, in month of April...   (24 Apr 2009)
No, because they are unrelated to each other. Also: a bullet isn't contagious (in the way that Swine Flu is).

2. Now that I think about it...   (14 May 2009)
The world really is stupid. Starting with our country... we're trillions of dollars in debt so we're fighting a war where we waste money for new weapons and the gas just to transport people. We can't really afford anything like that right now. And why are we in the war with Iraq and all those countries anyway? It's either because they bombed us, or oil or something stupid like that. I know a lot of people passed away in 9/11, but we're killing more people by sending them over there to fight for...

3. How the Media Portrays Military in Iraq   (12 May 2009)
What do you see? What do you hear? What do you think? about how the media portrays the Military in Iraq.

4. Something for all the peace loveing pot-smokers to think about...   (11 May 2009)
Something for all the peace loveing pot-smokers to think about... The 231 drug murders recorded in Ciudad Juarez in February dropped to 64 in March, the army says. But the number crept up to 81 in April and is already over 30 for the first week of May, according to police and media tallies. Mexico's drug war death toll is running at around 2,300 people this year, slightly higher than at the same point in 2008. A record-breaking 5,612 people were executed in Mexico’s drug war in 2008. Mexico's da...

5. Is it acceptable to write a piece of fiction based on the war in Iraq?   (06 Apr 2009)
Would it be seen as (and is it really) exceptionally tasteless to write a fictional novel about a soldiers' experiences in Iraq? I just wrote out a lengthy explanation, but it was all sorts of moddled and there were a thousand thoughts scattered throughout. I'm curious to know whether it would be widely considered tasteless or offensive to write a novel set mostly in Iraq about a soldiers experiences in the war there. Of course a "war novel" can go a million different directions, so suffice to s...

6. Goin' back to Iraq again...   (20 Apr 2009)
Alright, well, I'm going to iraq again for the second time, and was wondering, what does everyone think about what's going on over there? Do you think we're making progress or what? I know some of you may not know everything that goes down over there, what with the media screwing it all up, but I think most of you know someone that's been there and have heard what they have to say. Just looking for opinions and whatnot.

7. Once our troops are out of Iraq... Israel/Iran?   (13 Jun 2009)
Mods, please move this thread where it belongs if this isn't an appropriate place. Thank you. This isn't breaking news, it's basically just speculation/a question...but I was just thinking about Iran because of all of the voting that's been going on. In early 2011, I think, our forces are supposed to be pulled out of Iraq, aren't they? I was thinking that Israel could potentially have the opportunity (or vice versa) to attack Iran since the airspace in Iraq will be open. They would have to ask p...

8. AXIS OF IDIOTS-Something to Think About   (01 Jun 2009)
AXIS OF IDIOTS-Something to Think About Something to Think About This guy nails it to the floor...the floor of the White House, Congress, the Senate, and the NY Times A Retired Marine SGM Responds!!! (Too bad we don't have folks on Capitol Hill willing to speak out like this. J.D. Pendry is a retired Marine Sergeant Major who writes for Random House. He is eloquent, and as taught by the Marines, he seldom beats around the bush!) 'The Axis of Idiots" Jimmy Carter, you are the father of the Islami...

9. Investors look to cash in on Iraq's gains   (30 Apr 2009)
Lost all your money on the stock market? Seen your real estate investments crumble? These days, in the midst of a mind-boggling financial crisis, the idea of investing in Iraq may not seem so crazy. That is exactly what an increasing, though still small, number of brave investors are doing as the security situation improves and the White House prepares to drawdown troop numbers in the country - one of President Barack Obama's early foreign policy priorities. "What is risky these days? If you thi...

10. Straight to Iraq! (pun intended)   (24 Apr 2009)
Hello all! I have been in Iraq for a few months now, and it sucks. I have been using an electric for a while because water is short for the most part. But I figure I can use a straight and not use much water, cause I can wipe the blade instead of rinsing it while shaving. So, I have tried a straight before, and didn't have the time for it really. But now I have all the time in the world! So I am looking for opinions on a setup. I am pretty sure I need a shave ready straight, a strop, and probabl...
