What do you think about the current state of SSDs
(06 May 2009)
The question in the thread title pretty much sums up the purpose of this thread. I am interesting in seeing opinions on the current state of SSDs.
Would you upgrade to one?
How sensible are the trade offs?
As a non-enterprise consumer, would you still take SLC at the increased cost and write endurance, or MLC with the decreased cost and write endurance?
What about PRAM (Phase-change RAM)? Do you think it will be the next big thing for SSDs?
Do you believe Microsoft will begin to make serious fil...

Something to think about
(27 May 2009)
Hello,
Recently me any my friend, have moved to ubuntu, and are constantly discussing the benefits over windows. (yes, we're obsessed )
But i had a though the other day when a windows advert came on.
The tagline was
"Im seven years old and im a pc"
That made me think, your a PC? Personal Computer?
This advert, in my opinion, is claiming that EVERY Personal Computer, runs windows.
Now i think that's completely outrageous that microsoft should be allowed to claim that all Pc's are windows, because...

What do you think about MGS Going to Microsoft?
(02 Jun 2009)
Me personally i think its a bad idea taking a PlayStation game and giving it to Microsoft, specially a game like MGS, Giving MGS to Microsoft is like taking the Halo franchise & putting it on ps3
Pro's: 360 User's can now enjoy a great series of MGS in the future, 360 User's will be limited to the features the PS3 will have *yay?*
Con's: Hideo Kojima's bad decision to even think of bringing it to 360

What do you think about Microsoft's music streaming patent?
(24 Apr 2009)
What do you think about Microsoft's music streaming patent?
That patent basically pushes us around like drunken people shoo stray dogs.
It's because of that patent that we can't listen to the music we like when we play a game.
What do you think of it?
I think the patent should be disowned.

What is your honest opinion on Microsoft as a company and not as a sotware...
(10 May 2009)
There are plenty of threads around here about the new Windows distro and people discussing their opinions about it, but I don't want to know about that. I would like to know your honest opinions about Microsoft as a company.
Do you hate Microsoft? do you grudgingly respect them? Perhaps you don't hate them; but you have your suspicions. Maybe you're completely ambivalent about their business practices and only ever think of Micrsoft as a software vendor. Maybe you think they're the bess knees. M...

Quote: : This is bad. The prisoners have grabbed the keys. Activision Blizzard, the world's largest producer of video games, is publicly threatening to abandon Sony's PS3 and PSP platforms.
From Activision Blizzard President and CEO Bobby Kotick:
I'm getting concerned about Sony; the PlayStation 3 is losing a bit of momentum and they don't make it easy for me to support the platform. It's expensive to develop for the conso...
