Opposing Force Source?
(21 May 2009)
Hey all, I'm new to the board but I've been an avid HL player since '99. I found out about this mod and was drawn to it immediately and really appreciated what they were trying to do with one of the greatest games ever made. I feel that they can make such a game even greater and I'm looking forward to it's release very much.
That being said, I loved Opposing Force. I remember waiting as a 13 year old for it to be released very impatiently. I remember the PC Gamer preview on it, it seemed that be...

Critics Attack ABC News for Refusing to Air Opposing Ads During Obama's Health...
(18 Jun 2009)
While I am concerned about ABC's hour becoming an advertisement for Obama's agenda, I am reserving judgement until it has aired.
Since I haven't watched much television at all in the last few years, can anyone give examples of something similar to this with G.W. Bush or any other president? I know most all major networks have given time for broadcasting speeches from the Oval Office, State of the Union addresses, and presidential press conferences. Weren't there some town hall meetings that a fe...

Opposing Force
(14 May 2009)
I have been thinking of this concept for several years now and I want to get the "experts" here on CAPTALK to share their opinions.
Why do we not have people at our SAR exercises that work exclusively to act as missing persons/accident victims. In my time somebody from mission base or someone who is not even signed into the mission will set out a practice beacon and it's up to the air and ground crews to locate it and bring it back to mission base. What I am thinking of it people who will be wit...

Opposing ID endangers your soul? - Campus
(05 May 2009)
The conservative blogger “Little Green Footballs” has been critical of creationism and Intelligent Design in recent months. Apparently the Australian YEC geologist Tas Walker has been flooding him with emails every time he does this expressing concern for his eternal soul. After LGFs wrote a critique yesterday of an article claiming that ID isn’t creationism, Walker wrote him warning that:
We Got 'Burn in Hell' Mail!
“You need to think about your future, long term. The Bible says everyone of us...

The Case Against Sotomayor
http://www.tnr.com/politics/story.html?id=45d56e6f-f497...
Sotomayor's former clerks sing her praises as a demanding but thoughtful boss whose personal experiences have given her a commitment to legal fairness. "She is a rule-bound pragmatist--very geared toward determining what the right answer is and what the law dictates, but her general approach is, unsurprisingl...

Opposing view to Open Carry

Quote: :
Across the country, gun proponents are continuing to ramp up their efforts to normalize abnormal behavior by encouraging citizens to openly carry loaded firearms .
Just last week, Pastor Ken Pagano of the New Bethal Church in Kentucky made headlines with his decision to promote the 2nd Amendment by sponsoring an " Open Carry Church Service " on June 27. All he asks is that parishioners bring a firearm and a friend who has a sidearm....

Thinking about making a sig. Help would be greatly appreciated!
(17 Jun 2009)
I've been a member here for about two years now, despite not posting as much as I used to until recently. I think it's about time I got a sig to represent myself.
As you can see, my username -- General Stonewall Taylor -- is a clever little play off of Confederate General Thomas Jackson's nickname from the Civil War era. It represents my opinion of Sean Taylor and the way he commanded both our defense and the opposing offense on the field while he was still with us. I'd like to take it one step...

People react to extremes with opposing extremes. . .
(28 Apr 2009)
And here's the proof:
http://www.cnn.com/2009/SHOWBIZ/boo...gged/index.html
I read it in the early days of the Clinton Administration and, while not swallowing it whole (I detest her opinions on religion and sexuality), could see parallels even back then.
With the actions of the Obama Administration it's not surprising this work is making a comeback. Especially when we hear about things like "truth commissions."

Top-Down and Bottom-Up: Two Approaches to Thinking About Life
(12 May 2009)
Ever wonder why two people could look at the same evidence, and draw two completely different conclusions? Or, how two people who might even agree with each other on something, could sound like they don't, and even argue about it on purely semantic grounds?
Perhaps one possible reason has to do with the "directional approach" one takes in life: Some think in terms of "Top-Down", and others as "Bottom-Up".
This is not my own idea. I first learned of this concept reading various books by Michael S...

Different threads for different opinions.
(13 May 2009)
Hello BigFooty users,
I'm wondering if I've missed something. Is it now a requirement that if you have an opposing view or an opinion which differs from the rest of the people in the thread (or OP), that you have to start a new thread?
I'd just like some clarification regarding the issue.
Thank you very much,
From rfctigerarmy.
