What do you think about the mainstream media ... Knowledge.
(21 Apr 2009)
What do you think about the mainstream media labeling "tax day tea parties" as out of control Republican Right Wing Racist Whackos, demonstrating against Obama? I'd even heard about a few women afraid to participate, because the courts would allow it to be used against them in custody hearings.

Do you support where "mainstream gaming" is going? (Project Natal, etc
(16 Jun 2009)
With everything thats coming out to change the way you play video games now, do you really want to have to use all the motion sencing to play your video games? Looking at Project Natal i could see how it could be fun, but it's not something i really wanna depend on when i play game. It's the whole reason i barely play my Wii. 95% of the time i wanna sit down, have a cold one on the table, controller in my hands and just play. I know this sounds like a rant but i wanna know what you think about e...

Balancing natural with mainstream health care
(15 May 2009)
Just looking for stories, thoughts, experiences on how to do this or what to expect. DD currently has a general pediatrician and specialists in GI, ENT, Urology, Genetics, Endocrinology, and Allergy. I also (sort of on the side and without mentioning it to most of her docs) take her to a chiropractor. I really would like to incorporate a more holistic practitioner in to the picture. I'm thinking about switching from her General Ped (who I really like but is still very mainstream) to an ND. I'm a...

New Technology - and how it becomes mainstream
(19 Jun 2009)
I read something the other day that got me thinking about how society changes, how things evolve into mainstream; whether it be a new technology, or a new idea, or a new style of music.
Change.
Howard Roark, the fictional archetect from the Ayn Rand book probably said it best, and I'll paraphrase, "the man who invented fire was probably burned at the stake for making a deal with the devil, yet from that point on, his brothers had fire to keep them warm and light up the darkness."
Do you remember...

Twitter getting more and more mainstream
(14 Apr 2009)
I've noticed Twitter sneaking into the news more and more in the last few months. A-List celebrities are twittering more and more to promote themselves and promote themselves to fans. I assume many just hire people to Twitter for them but I'm sure many celebrities Twitter personally too.
Infact, I read last week that Jenifer Aniston was splitting up with her boyfriend because he didn't have time to see her but he had time to update his Twitter account several times a day.
So I really enjoyed Ali...

DHS, mainstream media hypes story about white supremacists working with Al...
(05 Jun 2009)
I remember seeing this MEMRI clip a few months ago where an "Al Qaeda leader" claimed that thousands of white supremacists were planning terror attacks in protest of the federal government and that Al Qaeda would work with them.
File this cruded propaganda along with DHS hyping right-wing extremist threat, and the ADL, Southern Poverty Law Center's shoddy smear on people who oppose political Zionism, and the ludicrous story from last year about "white Al Qaeda."
DHS Takes Seriously Claim Militia...

What do you think about the theme of PHB3?
(16 May 2009)
I'm not sure if anyone else sees this, but there seems to be literary themes in the Player's Handbooks. Each of the 8 classes presented in each book have a binding theme, a subtle undertone that they all seem to share.
In Player's Handbook 1, each of the classes seemed to have the idea of earning their powers. The Martial characters trained their bodies and minds to achieve their physical prowess. The divine characters trained in churches and now venture out into the world to preach their gospel...

Thinking about Amps... Fender people help!
(26 Jun 2009)
So I'm going to start playing around on some amps, as I'm finishing study at the end of this year and that means I'll have money for the first time in 2 years
It also means I'm happy to finally buy something and pay it off.
I've had the same amp for years, according to my tech its a copy of a JCM-800 - 50W 1x12 combo. EL34 based, high gain.
It's been a good amp, but I really want something new - and something tasty!
Things I've found I dont like about this amp is the clean tone is pretty lame, i...
