Hi All,
I am looking for some advice here
my current setup lets me record 16 things at the SAME time
but its OLD
( C-port x2) and I am looking to upgrade I am looking for a fire wire or maybe usb interface that will let me do the same thing
and NOT break the bank
!!! I am also thinking of recording live gigs as my laptop has both firewire and usb capabilities
I have been looking very seriously at a couple of alesis io26 units with a sample rate of 192k this is tempting

Thinking about Upgrading my Processor...

Right now I have an ASUS P5LP-LE, which supports an LGA-775 Socket-Type for a processor.
Currently, I have a Pentium D 940 in my machine. 3.2GHz dual core processor... Nothing fancy, but workable for gaming.
If I were to upgrade to a newer Dual Core, or even a Quad Core CPU, how much of a performance increase could I expect? I know not many games currently make use of all four cores in a Quad, so I'm slightly leaning towards a Core 2 right now.

yea, so after i got a bit of sense into my head 2 months ago, i am thinking about those phenom II processors again. now what got me thinking is the dropped prices (admittedly they didnt drop hugely, but still a factor for poor students like me). i am pretty happy with my system actually and im not even that hugely into gaming, its just the shiny, cool aspect of new hardware that got me going.
what tempts me is that i could switch to a phenom 2 system without investing much as there's still a mat...

Thinking about an Audio Interface upgrade... OK, so I'm thinking about upgrading my audio interface. Here is my situation and the plan I have:

Planning on upgrading my Q6700 to a Q9650, just curious how much improvement I can expect, I have been researching and seen that the Q9650 is very good.
Also thinking about getting the Coolmaster v8 for a new cpu cooler, or a zalman any suggestions would be nice.

Upgrading to 125G+: seeking experienced opinions

Greetings,
Upgrading my 55 gallon to something in the 125 - 180 range (with the blessing of he wife ) in the next 6 months or so. Looking for some opinions on several fronts as outlined below. I realize I'm probably opening the proverbial can of worms asking so many open ended questions in one post, but I'm in research/fact finding mode at this point so any thoughts are appreciated.
Currently have 3 clown loaches, 2 bala sharks and 2 rainbow bosemani that will be going from the 55 into new tank....

Opinions on upgrading from a D50

My wife and I have been using the D50 for a couple of years now. We would like to upgrade to something with a larger LCD and also something that has more manual controls...it is annoying to go through the D50s menu to make certain changes.
We want something in the enthusiast category...don't quite need the pro gear yet. I've been looking at the D90, just not sure that is the right choice. I've thought about he D300 but that might be too much camera at the moment.

Okay, so I have the Eibach (TRD) springs installed currently, I'm wondering if it's worth it to upgrade to the Hotchkis springs?
TRD specs are..
F: 200 lb/in R: 350 lb/in
Hotchkis specs are..
F: 164-242 lb/in 1.375" R: 1.875" 350-380 lb/in (progressive spring rate)
