Your 09-10 Starting PG: Beno Udrih?
(18 Jun 2009)
I have been thinking a lot about the draft (which Kings fan hasn't?) and thinking about the needs at PG and Beno's terrible 08-09 season and I have come to the distinct conclusion that he may still be the #1 option at PG.
Here is why:
The main reason the Kings need to replace him was because of his lackluster year this past season; if he keeps playing like that, the Kings will end up high in the lottery again... but why did he have a bad year?
I think, for Beno, there was a lack of leadership on...

One Of Many 2009 NBA Mock Drafts
(21 May 2009)
Post-Lottery NBA Mock
The Lottery is over and we now have an actual real draft order to play with.
1. Los Angeles Clippers - Blake Griffin, PF, Oklahoma
The Clips shocked the world and landed the No. 1 pick in the draft, and will now try to not screw it up. Blake Griffin, who shows traits of both Carlos Boozer and Amare Stoudemire, is the unanimous choice for being taken at No. 1, but the only problem is the Clippers already have Zach Randolph at power forward. Point guard Ricky Rubio is also a...

Season Preview: Eastern Conference (2011-12)
(28 Jun 2009)
ATLANTIC DIVISION
Last Season: 57-25
Key Additions: Travis Holmes, DeMarcus Nelson
Key Losses: JaVale McGee, DeShawn Stevenson
Preview: This will be the first season that the Wizards will have Arenas off of the ball. We've all seen how dominant he could be while dominating the ball, but can he still be the scariest scorer in the game while Nelson runs the show? There is no doubt about it that the Wizards will still be a forced to be reckoned with simply because of Arenas' presence on their roste...

Reflecting on What Went Wrong
(22 Jun 2009)
After the Spurs got eliminated from the playoffs in April for the first time in a dozen years, I took the opportunity to go on vacation for the month of May. That month turned into seven weeks.
I went into the vacation wanting to cut myself off from all things Spurs. While my curiosity to check SpursTalk from time to time got the best of me, it was a great opportunity to "fill the cup", as Pop would say.
During the vacation, I did a lot of fishing, hiking and more fishing. Even the Lakers champi...

EddieJonesFan 2009 Pre-Lotto Mock Draft w/explanations
(15 May 2009)
Try not to be too critical guys, I have feelings you know.
1.) Kings - PF Blake Griffin, Oklahoma
- I'm very tempted to put Rubio here, but I decided against it because there's such a small chance that anyone will have the guts to take Rubio with the number one pick. I think they might trade down for Rubio if the opportunity arose, but if it doesn't I think they're more than happy to get either one of them. I think there might be some in the Kings FO that actually like Rubio better because they...

(48MOH) Foreign Prospects Hidden Advantage

Foreign Prospects Hidden Advantage
Its common knowledge that the San Antonio Front Office possesses a level of forethought and insight that many franchises lack. Popovich and Buford have an aptitude for unearthing a players hidden value, both athletically and financially. Given our small market location, the FOs ability to balance financial savvy and basketball acumen has been critical to our continual success. Its not merely infrequent that the Spurs make a reckless financial move; Its in...

Season Preview: Western Conference (2011-12)

MIDWEST DIVISION
Last Season: 42-40
Key Additions: Charlie Villanueva, Andre Iguodala, Randy Foye, Eric Maynor
Key Losses: Lamarcus Aldridge, Boris Diaw, Donte Greene, Bobby Simmons
Preview: Let's try this one more time. If San Antonio cannot win their division with the talent they have on this roster right now, they will never win it. Picking up Villanueva was a complete steal for the price and adding Foye, Iggy, and Maynor were all nice moves. As of this very moment, their General Manager is p...

Doc J's 2009 Mock
(29 Apr 2009)
1) Kings - Blake Griffin, PF, Oklahoma
At a highly athletic 6'10" and a muscular 253 lb., Griffin could become the closest thing to Dwight Howard when it comes to pure physical dominance amongst NBA big men. With all due respect, no sane GM is passing up on a potential superstar like Blake Griffin because of Jason Thompson as I've heard some people suggest.
2) Wizards - Ricky Rubio, PG, International
There's a large talent drop-off after the top-2, so even though the Wizards have more pressing n...
