When to consider creating your own Ruby module in a Rails app?

With a Ruby module, you can cluster together a bunch of methods that you might use in one place and then include them into a class so it's as if you had written them in that class.
What kinds of practical uses are there for Ruby modules in a rails app?
I would appreciate if someone could mention an example of where they've actually used a module of their own so I have a sense of what situations I should be thinking about creating them. Thanks.

MIDI Plugins - VST Module Architecture vs. VSTi v2.4

I'm thinking about doing some MIDI fx plugins. I did some searching here and the consensus seems to be:
1) VST Module Architecture is supported by very few hosts
2) VST Module Architecture is buggy (?)
3) Go with VSTi v2.4, make it a synth with a dummy audio output (Cubase seems to need this)
Is that about right?
In a standard VSTi, how would you set up MIDI timing events? Perhaps have your own MIDI clock? Update it every time processReplacing is called and you retrieve the tempo and ppqn values...

Artificial Intelligence 2nd year? opinions plz

For those of you who have done/doing a module in Artificial Intelligence, can you please give your opinion on the module overall. Im thinking about taking it, but I also must take Theoretical Computing, so Im guessing the work load is going to be huge!
Also wondering what software you used while taking the module? and any basic fundamental stuff required to learn? Not like C++, but basics you learn while taking the module, such as certain algorithms etc.

Lunar Sim Module Dimensions?

Lunar Sim Module Dimensions? I posted this in the lighting forum, bu can't seem to get any replies there so I figured I'd give it a go here:
I'm designing my light rack and am thinking about incorporating a spot for the moonlight module. Can someone measure their Lunar Sim for me and post the dimensions? I can't find them online anywhere.

TWIN2X4096-8500C5D - 1 module bad?

I purchased this kit on May 2nd (a little under two months ago) and they have been working perfectly up until a few days ago when I started getting random BSODs and various errors in the event log.
While I did run MemTest86+, it was only for one pass and it hadn't been acting up prior to it. I know many more passes are recommended, but I previously had an Asus Striker II Extreme MB and had nothing but problems with RAM in it and have ran more passes of MemTest than I care to think about. limbsaver module vs. Doinker Chubby/multi-rod

I currently have a limbsaver module on my DXT and just bought a Doinker Chubby. Wanted to get some opinions on which one is better on overall balance + noice/vibration reduction? Also interested in the Doinker multi-rod if they come out with it in Lost camo.

Personality Module SOL-20 - is this right?

Anyone have a SOL-20 and if so, note the edge connectors of your SOLOS personality module. See how these above have two scraped off leads? Is this something one does on purpose and if so why?
When I check the power the 5V is consistently 4.7 volts, not 5. The power supply seems ok, so something on the board is shorting. Not sure yet what. I have a few other projects ahead in line, but I thought I'd get some opinions.

I'm posting this on both channels for the benefit of all members running petrol models.
It will primarily interest owners of models registered after mid-2001. Earlier cars have a different filter design that doesn't suffer FFS.
