Hi guy's I need your opinion.
I can buy a very nice ,almost mint , Officers schirmmutze.
According to the seller it comes straight from the family and was never in a collection before. It is a late war issue and made of this typical late war rough cloth. Everything is original and never been removed or added. The piping is strang enough silver. The sweat band is very dark.
Please let me know what you think about this item.

What's your experience with them? I used the search feature but couldn't find any relevant threads on openly gay police officers in departments. Are they treated just like the other guys? Is there friction between the heterosexual and homosexual officers when it comes to stuff like undressing in the locker room? How do you personally feel about them? Why do some officers feel that they are better than any regular citizen?

First off, I want to keep this discussion civil. I am not intending this as a troll thread. I work in law enforcement and will one day be an officer, but this is a question that I often wonder about.
I have noticed that some officers can come off as rude and condescending to the average citizens they deal with, as if they don't have time for them and are better than them. Working at a police station, I usually get to deal with the citizens who have complaints. Most of them I can tell are BS, but...

RAF Officers - Questions

Hi
My son is thinking about becoming a pilot - we are talking many years down the road. He wants to do it via the RAF - I suggested that he would probably need to think about completing his schooling, university. Am I correct in thinking this is the way to go if you want to be an officer.

Michigan officers looking to relocate

My wife and I are both officers in Michigan. Due to the economy, she will probably be getting laid off in the next year. We are thinking of relocating to another state because almost every city and county in Michigan either has a hiring freeze or is talking about layoffs. Questions ITT..
Anyone know how much different the process is from normal enlisted?
Do officers go to a separate basic training?
I have a business degree, but would like to do something completely different, my friend is a naval officer and said you have to do something related to your degree Is that true?
