If you're thinking about buying an iPhone, stop!
(10 Jun 2009)
So, you've had a look at the iPhone, and you're thinking to yourself, "This might be a good phone to choose." You're planning to buy it. Stop. With your purchase of the iPhone, you're committing yourself to a product decidedly inferior in the smartphone market, one with glaring design mistakes.
Let's start with the hardware. With the iPhone, you get a 412MHz ARM11 processor, 128MB of RAM and either 8GB or 16GB of internal storage. Apart from the internal storage, this is only roughly comparable...

My RANT about 3.0 and future iPhone software (Long/Pictures)
(25 May 2009)
Ok so today, I was super excited to get the 3.0 software and a really friendly mac rumors user, decided to hook me up with the beta through his developer kit. Anyways, I got to playing with 3.0 and checking out all the new stuff it had to offer. Here is my rant, sorry if its long and stupid.
So after almost an entire year, the BIG update we get in 3.0 is like a new messaging application and now it says what number called me when I get a missed call? Really if you think about it, the core feature...

Which Phone - N97, N86, or iPhone
(23 May 2009)
My contract is due for renewal, and I have to make a choice on a phone.
Two years ago, the pinnacle, was indeed the Nokia N95. That was the phone for me, that gave me Carl Zeiss optics (not that great really, and frankly I don't think more mega pixels means better picture), 8 Gig memory card from O2, TV Out, runs TomTom, stores my music, does video recording.
Now I can use Nokia Sports Tracker, Google Maps, YouTube... it's pretty nice. Battered, dropped a few times, but nice.
So now I have to ma...

[apple-iphone] Jawbone case
(20 May 2009)

Liking the new Jawbone Prime. Only thing I miss (and most headphones
fall into this) is no flip or switch for on/off. I know the button is
there - but I find this sometimes allows the earpiece to turn on
accidentally in my bag. This kills the battery and I've had a few
times I've answered my phone and can't hear the person because it's
going through the earpiece in my bag. I know how to switch to iPhon...

Tyler Savery: iPhone App Will Launch Sirius XM
May 12, 2009 (10:34 pm) Tyler Savery
For those that have followed satellite radio for a long time, Apple has always been seen as a brass ring of sorts. Over the years many investors were clamoring for a deal with Apple that never came to fruition. It just seemed right and natural to combine the live aspect of satellite radio with the features of the iPod and iTunes. iPods lacked a music discovery aspect that satellite could deliver. Perhaps the fact...

A joke of an article
(27 Jun 2009)
I recently got a free year-long subscription of BusinessWeek and read the June 29th issue. I found this humorous, but pathetic article by a well-distinguished BusinessWeek journalist near the end of the issue:
http://www.businessweek.com/technolo...617_040512.htm
Did this guy ever laid eyes upon a Windows Mobile phone in the past 2 years? I doubt it. Every feature he mentioned is available on Windows Mobile but he dismisses it as looking "lame". It's almost like he's working for Apple the way he...

(12 Jun 2009)
Hello
Matmi's first iPhone game Monster Pinball has been approved by Apple and it is already receiving great reviews.

Monster Pinball is the most action packed and fastest pinball game on the iPhone!
Six interconnected tables bring you into the mind boggling pinball world
of the Monster Mafia characters sending you into a spin at every flick of
your paddles.
This game is not a simulator nor a retro port, it's a totally original pinball extravaganza, taking...

Meet the HTC Magic (Reviews are in!)
(17 May 2009)
Web Reviews : TechRadar : But it's all very well to say that you're going to get the best phone just because it's fixed a few bugs and shed a few pounds... what we want to know is whether the HTC Magic is the phone that's going to thrust Android into the psyche of the phone buying public as successfully as Apple has with its iPhone.
[...] The touchscreen is to die for, Android's 1.5 firmware upgrade has really done the business in terms of adding new functionality , and Google's presence through...

Advertising
(29 Apr 2009)
Looking for a little clarrification here, which is relevant to most of the Anarcht post areas, but here seems to be the most used forum for ads so here I'll place it.
What do think is an acceptable/unacceptable ad? What is guerilla market and what is just usual information about a product or service that we may not hear about anywhere else?
I do not have a dog in the ring, I am just a regular sailor that has worked in the industry, but am now just a regular sailor that spends way too much time h...

Venturebeat Interviews Iwata
(08 Jun 2009)
Satoru Iwata is very excited about your heartbeat. The chief executive of Nintendo wants to capture it on his new Wii Vitality Sensor, an add-on peripheral for the Nintendo Wii, so that video games can tune in to your level of excitement or relaxation and make use of that as a kind of control in future Nintendo games. While Sony and Microsoft announced motion-control devices that were trying to catch up with or leapfrog the Wii’s motion-sensitive controller, Iwata was showing a path to a new kin...
