Out-of-state lunatics have moved to Westmoreland NH!!!
(28 Apr 2009)
It has come to my attention that there are numerous letters being circulated among Westmoreland NH residents from a couple named Martens, also from Westmoreland, in which they put forth dangerous conspiracy theories in an attempt to smear another Westmoreland couple, Dawn Lincoln and Bill Campbell. In addition, they have published an article on the communist-run Counterpunch website that while mostly false, attempts to smear Dawn and Bill.
Mr. Martens claims that his wife is a "public interest w...

Question to Croats: Why do you make stuff up about your origins?
Avars? Huns? Croats?
by Slobodan Jarčević
While attempting to explain the roots of their nation, Croatian intellectuals have aroused curiosity among all those who cannot solve the enigma of the rise of Croatian state which was based on the bloodshed of nearby Serbs from whom the Croats have even borrowed their language. Not a small number of researchers have attempted to explain the Croatian hostility and hounding of Serbs by point...

Analysis Of All Alleged Rigging Proofs In Iran's Election
(28 Jun 2009)
Different elements raised DOUBTS about the recent Elections of Iran (2009). Let us analyze them one by one.
Objection 1: How it is possible that some Areas got more than 100% Votes?
This is "The Biggest" proof which is presented in order to blame these elections to be rigged.
Iranian Government confirmed it and then made it clear the reasons why some areas could have more votes than 100%. Unfortunately Western Media all together neglected this clarification and put false words in Iranian Governm...

M39 -- What you see is what you get?
(06 May 2009)
I am admittedly a pretty dim bulb, and it dawned on me a couple of days ago that I had not learned anything about my receiver on my PL marked 1941 M39.
So, we great anticipation I broke her down and looked at the flat of the Tang. Zip, zilch, nothing, nada. What a disappointment.
Well, armed with this forum and some web links, my fly tying light and mirror and a camera and went to work.
I discovered this mark on the left side of the tang, a mark I think identifies the receiver as a Chatellerault...

Final Fantasy VIII: Remembering the Orphan
(19 Jun 2009)
I've just found this article over at Kotaku and its a great read. Hopefully it will slap some sense into some of the haters out there.

Quote: : Is there any videogame out there thats more in need of a critical reevaluation than Final Fantasy VIII? Despite strong sales when it first released in 1999, the game is considered only a minor entry on both sides of the Pacific. Most reviews in the US were only mildly positive and bemoaned that the i...

April Stundie Finals
(03 May 2009)
First an apology to Hittman who was inadvertently included in last months finals thanks to an editing error and lack of sleep on my part. Also I'm stupid and inferior to Hittman in every way.
Are we even now?
So, last months winner:
"Of course, the nuclear atom is a myth on top of a myth. Atoms themselves do not exist at all. It is a false theory of Pythagoras's students Leucippus which Pythagoras learned from secret sects in India when he visited there in the sixth century BC at the behest of t...

The search for a direct connection between humans and the rest of the animal kingdom has taken 200 years - but it was presented to the world today at a special news conference in New York.
The discovery of the 95%-complete 'lemur monkey' - dubbed Ida - is described by experts as the "eighth wonder of the world".
They say its impact on the world of palaeontology will be "somewhat like an asteroi...

May Stundie Finals
(04 Jun 2009)
Well I'm back and mostly better now (how a "loving God" allows something like projectile vomiting to exist is something I want theologists to answer) so I endeavored to pare a record 100+ nominations (was there some sort of Kook Steroid getting used in May?) down to just 20 for you all to vote on.
First last months winner:

"not refutable", " that's illogical"
You can differentiate between people who wish to remain lo...
