Okay, I don't know if this belongs here, and if it doesn't, my sincerest apologies.
I haven't been sending out queries for a very long time, but I'm starting to get frustrated with the whole query-writing system. I can never find good examples of fantasy queries to see how they're set up, and every time I re-write a new query, there's always something wrong with it.
Every free moment in my head I'm constructing a new query, and with every new query, I find little problems and it's driving me cra...

How to put records from a query into DAOs?

I have written a gateway to get a result set from my database. How do i store every row in a separate dao so that i can manipulate every record further? Or can i access the result set directly to get the records?
This is my Gateway (btw, should i write the conditional logic within the cfquery into a seperate cfc that extends this one?)

Nitro finishes: what do you think about them?

I've been trying to understand the pros and cons of nitrocellulose finishes and want to query my AGF friends. The one thing I think I've determined is that there seems to be no perfect finish.
What do you like or dislike about nitro finishes? Is nitro your favorite? Least favorite? Or does it really matter to you what the finish is?
If it's not your favorite, what do you like better, and why?

DVD recorders with HDD. Query about copying. - Personal Video Recorders

I am thinking about replacing my DVD recorder with one which has a built-in HDD. One of the main reasons would be to record things onto the hard disk and then transfer to DVD for archiving. Firstly, I have two questions about this process:
1 Is it normal with this type of machine to be able to copy HDD>DVD only a part of a recording which is on the HDD as I like to record a 5 min guard band but would wish to copy the exact programme length.
2 When copying HDD>DVD is it normal to copy at re...

QUERY: New Sheets - wash first?

What would you do? You run out of clean bed sheets and don't have time to wash them that evening (they have already been taken off the bed and are in a hamper). Do you put on new sheets right out of their packaging without washing? Does the fact that they are 100% cotton, 100% silk or a blend make a difference? I know that "they" recommend never wearing new clothes without washing first but I do THAT all the time. Opinions?

Query - wood hoops?

I think I posted a similar question on this again. I'm looking to put on wood hoops for my current maple snare.
Was looking at Yamaha vintage wood hoops (friggin ex), Gibraltar wood hoops and the brandless ones the Joshua's Tree Percussion is selling on Ebay..
I'm currently using a Ludwig 14x6.5?
But I've also heard wood hoops may have issues fitting on different snares?
I need some opinions who have used wood hoops before! I plan to purchase the Gibraltar ones? Any reviews about those?

Hi,
I have some questions to the guys here !
I wish to build a new Tube Pre and was looking at various options and designs, I have almost shortlisted the circuit below and need some opinions on that !! Also if someone has a better circuit (either hybrid or otherwise) please post it here so that I can try to use it !!
