1. Thinking about a new TS   (25 Jun 2009)
I currently have a 20 year old Craftsman contractor saw. I only do hobby work but do build nice furniture type projects. I have been considering a new saw and think the Grizzly G0478 may be what I need. It's their hybrid, 2 HP cabinet saw. I know I've come to the right place for opinions so let me know what you think. The price on it right now is $850 + $89 shipping and is at the upper limit of what I feel I can spend.

2. So im thinking about taking a break from the hobby.   (10 Jun 2009)
Man so i was just thinking today. I spend so much time, effort and $$$money$$$ on this hobby. It has gotten out of control. I feel like i need to take a break. Anybody else ever feel like that before? I spend so much money trying to obtain every carolina panther card i can. I got debt i need to pay and other things i need to concentrate on.

3. New to the hobby...opinions please...   (06 Jun 2009)
Just recently build enough courage to change from fresh water to saltwater . I have a 55gallon, recieved about 50lbs of live rocks and live sand from a friend. How long will it take for my tank to cycle. Also, is it a over kill to have a over flow filtration(not actual just kinda rigged a wanna be) and a canister filter running at once (planing to do fish only tank) i just figured the more water filter per hour the better. also, have two power heads... I was thinking about throwing in a few dems...

4. Is Geocaching a sport/hobby/game?   (28 May 2009)
Many people refer to this as a sport, but I can't say that I agree with that...at least not yet. I would like to get input from members here as to what you view this as. Even if you have over 1000 caches, I could see it being a game Even if you are a hardcore hiker (I LOVE to backpack/hike and do it a LOT), I don't know that this "portion" of a hike could be a sport, EVEN if you consider hiking a sport... I see it more as a hobby. This is something that I do when I get the chance, for fun, and I...

5. Heres Something To Think About SoundClick   (04 Jun 2009)
If you reach the point of knowing your never gonna become what you wanted to be , meaning , making decent money off of your own talent and skill. Will you continue to make music to the public just as a hobby well into your 30s an 40s or will you call it a career .

6. Getting back to an old hobby (Video Games)   (19 Jun 2009)
Hello, I'm a 30+ year old guy who was at one point in time - a video game fan! I grew up with my Genesis, Super Nintendo and a Neo-Geo before I moved on to another hobby. I skipped the Playstation 1,2 and other related consoles, because I never really liked the "3-D" game concept, and of course the sudden "tired of the old to try something new" fever just creeped in. Long and short, I'm married now and my days of being "out of the house" are over. So the prospects of returning to an old hobby is...

7. Maybe returning to the hobby after many years   (25 Jun 2009)
I am thinking about getting back into this hobby after many years. I found some bodies and tried my hand at painting them. What is the most popular body for 1/10th nitro on road? Thanks Jim

8. Hobby voltage regulator   (28 May 2009)
Hi, I usually either buy regulators as needed or use a resistor to knock down the current flow for LED use, but I thought it would be fun to try to actually build one from scratch. This seemed like as good of place to post this as any. I have never actually built a working circuit that contained more than a battery, diode, resistor and LED, so this will be a real test for me. Constant current drivers require a bit more finess, so I thought I would start with a constant voltage one instead. I rea...

9. Your experiences with Hobby Lobby t-shirts   (21 Apr 2009)
I am planning on doing bleach stenciled shirts for my two sons (2 and 4) for Christmas.  I was hoping to get 100% cotton shirts but I can't find them anywhere around here.  Hobby Lobby's were 65/35 cotton/polyester when I looked, so I was thinking about using them.  However, I have a Hobby Lobby t-shirt and after a few washes it started pilling and it did fade a bit.  Not so much worried about the fading as the pilling, because why spend the time stenciling if you're doing it on crap fabric?  So...

10. Hobby Dread   (21 May 2009)
Do you ever get a feeling of dread if you have unbuilt or unpainted models? I do. I have at least 9000 points of Daemons, Chaos Space Marines, Tyranids and Eldar. Out of all of the Tyranids, only a Carnifex, 5 Gaunts, 3 Genestealers, half a Warrior, a spore mine and a Broodlord are painted. Out of the Eldar, only a Wraithlord, 2 Guardians and a Dire Avenger are painted. Out of all the Daemons, only a Bloodletter and a Soul Grinder are painted. NOTHING for my Chaos Space Marines are painted. Wors...
