Thinking about selling macbook for imac

I have the previous model of the macbook 13" 2.0ghz 4gb ram. I really want an iMac though. I barely ever leave my house with this and I'd really like the larger screen.
Is it worth it to pop this macbook on ebay and then use the money to buy the cheapest model of iMac with the student discount and free iPod? I'd just sell the iPod touch on ebay to count it as more money off on the iMac.
Let me know some opinions...

I have macbook described in my sig. I have been getting more and more into design work (i.e. Photoshop, sketch up, etc.) and i also feel like i need a little bit more screen real-estate. Its nothing professional (im 15) but i feel like im lacking power for how old the machine is (8 months). I need to have music going to concentrate and make anything look good.
I almost always have itunes, adium/ichat, pages, numbers and safari open on my macbook when its on. I usually have to close pages, number...

So I want to experiment with a macbook. I use my laptop for BUSINESS (mainly outlook and word) and SLIGHT entertainment (movies, music) only so I don't need a whole lot of firepower.
1. should I get a macbook or a macbook unibody? I think the uni is a little over the top for my need but it seems like a much more durable laptop??? or secret option C and get an older macbook pro?
2. How can I go ahead getting proficient w/ OSX? Just mess around with the machine? Buy a book? I've only tinkered with...

Hi, everyone.
It's been a while since I needed to post or read here.
I have been happily working with my Digi002+first generation intel MacBook+Logic 7.
I have just purchased the new MacBookPro 2.4Ghz with 4GB RAM.
I want to upgrade my PT LE to 8 and Logic to 8 as well.
I have read about the possible solutions for my new MacBookPro not having a FW400 port.
I have a 3 year old LacieD2 500GB at home.
It has both FW800 and FW400 on it.
Should I use that as a converter or Would I be better off with...
