1. Has Big Footy surpassed TV/Print/Radio media?   (18 Jun 2009)
Sorry if this thread should go in the Fourth Estate thread (if you want to move it, Mods, I totally understand...). Also, sorry if it's too navel-gazing, and not really footy-gazing, but I've been thinking about this. In terms of getting accurate, up-to-date and breaking news about the game, and effective and insightful analysis, has Big Footy now surpassed your traditional paid media, such as the Age, The Hun, SEN, or the Footy Show? A few examples - during draft time, I followed threads on the...

2. Lebron surpasses kobe as best player per Jerry West   (18 May 2009)
Quote: : LeBron surpasses Kobe as the top player: Jerry West WASHINGTON (Reuters) – LeBron James is the best player in the NBA, surpassing veteran Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant, 14-times All-Star guard Jerry West said Monday. West, a shrewd judge of talent who brought Bryant to the Lakers when he was their general manager, said the Cleveland forward could become the league's next Michael Jordan. "I look at Cleveland say to myself, 'How many games could they win without LeBron James?' West...

3. Where will Galippo surpass Maualuga?   (08 Jun 2009)
I was thinking about the Ohio State game coming up at the Horseshoe in Columbus Sept 12th today. Remember back in 2002 when USC went on the road to Kansas St and lost 27-20. USC seemed to be winning the battle at the line of scrimmage the whole game, but Kansas St was killing the Trojans with QB draws and broken plays. How do you stop the QB draw? What will USC do to contain a running QB in the mold of Vince Young? The Trojans failed miserably in the '06 Rose Bowl. Terrelle Pryor is a very skill...

4. Children surpassing their parents   (18 Apr 2009)
Inspired by another thread which asked if we would teach our future children to play music. Thinking of musicians', or generally famous people's children, I can't think of any example in which children have actually outdone their parents in whatever they do. I think Antonio Stradivari's father was a virtuoso violinist, but I'm not sure. I'm probably mistaking him for someone else. That's the only example I can think of, but I'm not even sure about that. I guess you could raise the same argument...

5. something to think about   (21 May 2009)
hey guys these are some poems i made, and no i did not steal them from the .com forums as someone will likely say, i'm tristar on .com forum and tristar69 on .us forum so here they are Time is living, it devours all, and is merciful to none Time has no boundaries, limits or controls It cannot be seen, felt or heard But it does all three Time does not age, but we age with time Time is impossible and yet it is there Time destroys, but it also creates Time is ever-moving it never stops, although it...

6. Tortilla sales surpass bread   (09 Apr 2009)
We shall overcome! No, just kidding. But these article makes me think about the possibilities for tortillas here in Taiwan. (Now, if we could have nice, soft, decent corn tortillas or at least resonably priced -see I am not asking for fresh- masa in Taiwan): Quote: : A Congressional resolution declared the first “National Tortilla Month” last September, as annual tortilla sales topped $6 billion. And, for the first time in U.S. history, sales of tortillas are poised to outpace sales of sandwich...

7. Need your Help/Opinions On My Acura Dealership Woes (Kind of Long)   (22 Jun 2009)
Here’s the deal. In November or 2006 I accepted a job that allowed me to live at home for a while so I could save up for a house and finish working on a friends car in my fathers shop. I decided to buy a new car for the 90 mile round trip to/from work since my 93 Oldsmobile Achieva would develop a new issue every week. I bought a 2006 Acura TSX after riding in two of my friends’ 2004 & 2005 TSX’s. The car hasn’t left me stranded but I have had to have a lot of stuff done to it so far. The car sa...

8. Opinions Please. '08 300 Replacement Parts. Thanks!   (27 May 2009)
Hi All. OK...here's the deal. I just surpassed the century mark for time on my '08 300 XC-W. Although I'm consistant with maintenance and care of my punkin vunderbike wear-n-tear is inevitible. There is a short list of worn parts needing replacement and I need opinions/suggestions/recomendations on the replacement parts. I'm interested in your personal experiences with recomended parts...and your experiences with parts you do not recomend. Here's the list of replacement parts needed: 1) Wheel Be...

9. Opinions, pwease.   (21 May 2009)
So, as I draw to the end of my second year of uni, with one more to go, I'm currently out of pocket to the tune of around £12k, which truly terrifies me, but that's just how it is, right? Besides, I'll never get a better interest rate, so I may as well take advantage of it... Anyhoo, there's a nipper on my course- we'll call him Tom Ponsford, because that's his name- who from the outset didn't really seem to give a shit. He had blatantly signed up to play hockey, and as such, studying radio very...

10. Thunder Grippers (Needs Opinions) !!!   (06 May 2009)
Thunder Grippers The sound of thunder filled the dry, parched air. Dark clouds completely blotted out the sky. Bolts of lightning continuously streaked across the heavens, which provided the only illumination to the vast sea of sand below. This shadowed desert is the Saharan Thunder Plains. Centuries of desertification and climate change engulfed the continent of Africa in a desert that never saw the sky. In time, civilization learned to harness the limitless energies of the endless lightning st...
